“I have a platform bed, which means there are no two smooth layers where I can insert this mat. It's the wood platform, then my super thick mattress. Any body used this tracking pad under a pillow or have suggestions on how to place it alternatively?”

The company website talks about the thickness of mattress that will work fine. Ours is a platform bed with a very thick mattress and it's working great. Our platform has slats, so company recommends putting a piece of cardboard or such under the device so it has a solid surface under it. That was easy to do.
