Is a subscription required to use this camera? null

Officially no. In reality yes you are pretty limited without it. But it’s only $20 a year not per month so it’s cheap and you don’t need to worry about sd cards needing to be replaced which trust me you will be replacing them if you get even a moderate amount of triggering events.
