Nope! This console can play 4k Blu-Rays, but games are still played in up to 1080p, though if you have a 4k TV, they can be scaled up to 4k.

Not at all. I have a standard 1080p HD television, works perfectly. 4K is useful only for the select Blu-ray movies with the capability to be played with the Xbox.

Short answer is NO. Long answer is You don't need to use it. But it will be better to have 4K TV since 4k TV will display better looking game if your game support it.
