You could actually play as far back as original Xbox console games and Xbox 360 as long as the games are on the Backwards Compatibility List. As far as Kinect games, you probably can but it won't be without some headache. You can purchase an adapter for the Xbox One S as the S doesn't come with a proprietary port for the Kinect anymore.
