“Brand new Xbox one, all games work except Grand theft auto 5. Loads but when you start it returns to dashboard and crashes. Went and purchased a new game, same results. Any ideas what may be wrong?”

You may want to delete, and then reinstall the game. It may help things along.

If this is till occurring, I would uninstall and reinstall the game, if that doesn't help, reset the console.

Not sure but try uninstalling and reinstalling the game, sounds like the original install got corrupted. Also make sure you've updated it as newer versions of the Xbox OS may be incompatible with older versions of gta 5.
