I used to work for the BestBuy in Westbury LI, so here's some tips. Sale prices start on Sundays and end on Saturdays. It's a typical sales cycle dictated by the vendors of the products BestBuy sells. Although they can change at any time, that XBOX and anything for that matter, is expected to hold it's price at least until Saturday. FYI Now, with COVID-19 being a thing, BestBuy has extended it's return policy for certain purchases for longer than usual. You should check the fine print on the website to be sure. $299.99 is the lowest price the XBox One X goes for when it's typically on sale at the moment, so the price is fair, if you bought it at a time the price is higher, like I did at $399.99, BestBuy will in fact match it through the time period the item is still eligible for return. The X Box One X has seen it's price point go up and down like a roller coaster the last couple of weeks. Hope that helps. I bought mine because I was going to be stuck at home for quite a while and they price matched me online.
