- Answer Thank you for your question. Xbox Series S is an all-digital console and is not compatible with disc-based games. The great news is that it can play all digital games designed for Xbox Series X/S, almost all Xbox One games, and hundreds of games designed for Xbox 360 and original Xbox.

QuestionHow can this console play 4K Ultra movies if it's an all-digital platform? I have regular dvds and some blu-ray dvds, as well as a small collection of Xbox360 games, but if this console can play dvds, it should play game discs as well. Why doesn't it?

- Answer Thank you for your question. Xbox Series S is an all-digital console that can stream video content in 4K UHD. It does not have an optical drive, and cannot play physical game discs or Blu-rays/DVDs. To play physical media, we suggest getting Xbox Series X instead.
