Thanks for asking! Xbox Series S does not have a built-in optical drive and is not compatible with Xbox game discs. If you are interested in a next-generation Xbox that can play game discs, we recommend Xbox Series X. It has a built-in 4K UHD Blu-ray drive that can play both Blu-rays and physical Xbox games.

It’s yours forever in the cloud anywhere. I know they will answer you with a solution that involves spending more money on the top tier console but not necessary. Personally I think physical discs are a drawback, digital licenses are forever. Sites like the one above can sometimes have the same games for even as much as 90% below retail. Don’t forget game pass ultimate which gives you hundreds of games for free with your monthly payment something like ten bucks. You can download any of those instantly as well. Don’t let anyone try to counter my point with an argument about hard drive space: it’s a simple as purchasing a $12 128 GB USB dongle at Best Buy and having your games stored on the USB. The storage on this consuls it’s almost never ending and priced well. Anyone who rebuttals any of this or disagrees with you or this point is merely what we call a noob or a fan boy. Their point will forever remain mute!
