My understanding is it does. The good news perhaps, (Yamaha) has yet to respond, but Sound United who owns Denon and Marantz responded on 12/9 that "Sound United completed additional testing and is pleased to report that 4K/120Hz passthrough works without issue on Nvidia and PS5 devices. Outside of what was originally reported regarding Xbox at 4K/120Hz output setting, we have had no further HDMI 2.1 device interoperability issues reported as of this writing. " This is good news as the chipset is the same as Yamaha, so it may not be a hardware issue with the chipset that was first reported across the three brands. There is not further details on the Yamaha site for a firmware update, but hopefully that means they will follow the same fate. In the same response Sound United indicated they have made good progress on the Xbox issue as well. I know this is an exact answer for Yamaha, but good news given the updates from Sound United. If you want to read more, this is the details of those: https://www.audioholics.com/news/sound-united-hdmi-2.1-no-issue

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Yamaha recievers don't do 4k 120hz not tell a firmware sometime soon I talked to yamaha pluz I saw it should not be a issue with the hdmi 2.1 once they do the firmware to inable 4k 120hz when using it with the ps5 cause both yamaha and the ps5 use the same hdmi 2.1 chipset
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is the exact same receiver as the RX-V6A (except with larger capacitors). So yes, it has the same HDMI 2.1 issue.
