Q: QuestionThe wattage per channel is not listed. What is the per channel and total wattage?(1 answer)
A: Answer100 watts per channel at 8 ohmsAnswered by Bryan
- A: AnswerThe advantage, has better made components on the inside, power capacitors, etc and the extra foot! Or support would make a difference
Answered by Hotsauce1725
- A: AnswerMy understanding is it does. The good news perhaps, (Yamaha) has yet to respond, but Sound United who owns Denon and Marantz responded on 12/9 that "Sound United completed additional testing and is pleased to report that 4K/120Hz passthrough works without issue on Nvidia and PS5 devices. Outside of what was originally reported regarding Xbox at 4K/120Hz output setting, we have had no further HDMI 2.1 device interoperability issues reported as of this writing. " This is good news as the chipset is the same as Yamaha, so it may not be a hardware issue with the chipset that was first reported across the three brands. There is not further details on the Yamaha site for a firmware update, but hopefully that means they will follow the same fate. In the same response Sound United indicated they have made good progress on the Xbox issue as well. I know this is an exact answer for Yamaha, but good news given the updates from Sound United. If you want to read more, this is the details of those: https://www.audioholics.com/news/sound-united-hdmi-2.1-no-issue

Q: QuestionThe 7.2 receiver ...can It handle 14 speakers or do I need a 9.2?..(2 answers)
A: AnswerA total of 9 speakers can be connected to this receiver, but only 7 will be powered at a time.Answered by MountainLover
- A: AnswerI said "yes" earlier but found out, by trying it myself (and spending on an extra set of speaker cables), that you cannot bi-amp the main speaker AND use zone 2. Although the receiver has enough connections to wire both, in the "Power Amp Assign" menu you can only select one or the other. If you select "Bi-Amp" here, the zone 2 speakers are silent. If you bi-amp the speakers and use the "7.1 + 1 Zone" or the "5.1.2 + 1 Zone" setting, you get your zone 2 speakers but your main speakers get different signals for the tweeter and the woofer when you play 7.1 or 5.1.2 audio which is not what you want. For passive bi-amping, both terminals on the speaker should get the same audio signal delivered through two wires. So the short answer is, no, this feature is NOT supported. Unfortunately, the manual does not tell you this explicitly.

- A: AnswerOhm settings on the receiver are adjustable to match your speakers.

- A: AnswerUnless Yamaha sells a model rated for 220 volts the current US model is 120 volts only. Purchase a small 120 volt to 220 volt transformer. Just make sure transformers output has sufficient wattage to power receiver and any other components that need power.

Q: QuestionIs the unit able to run only 5.1?(4 answers)

Easy to set up with YPAO; high quality sound using with Klipsch speakers. 7.1. Super immersive especially with ATMOS native sound. Pure direct for all you audiophiles. It is a Yamaha so it does have some quirks but overall i would buy it again

Awesome!!!!
Upgraded to the RX-A2A from a twelve year old Denon AVR-1609 and the 5.1 surround sound quality is 100% better. Followed the set-up instructions and it was a breeze. Can’t beat the price for amazing sound and video quality for under $1000. Very happy with purchasing the Yamaha receiver!!!!
