This is my 3rd Yamaha over the years. All up grades, never any problems. I bought an Onkyo Integra 70.3 between my 2nd and this newest Yamaha. Onkyo lasted only 3 years and was very expensive. So, Back to Yamaha I came. Yamaha has been quality since the 80’s when I was in Germany. Always out performs the cost. This one is no different. I put it through the paces and it performed well. Movies and Music. Has no problem filling the room with quality sound through my Klipsh 7 channel speaker set up ( not a cheap set up I might add). Crisp clear sound and at volume. The only ding I give is no manual and you have to muddle your way through the set up menu. After you hook everything up, make sure you run the firmware update first. Nothing will work until you do. I give this unit 5 stars for Yamahas consistent quality at a fair price.

Sounds Great! I've used Yamaha receivers for some time now. Prior to this one I purchased a Denon. I was not happy with the way it connected to my TV. The TV finds the Yamaha and connects perfectly. My receiver sits in a different room than the TV so ease of connection is a must for me. Changing to other sources is very easy with the Yamaha. Looking forward to years of entertainment with it.

I purchased this one along with a Denon receiver to duel it out. I have a Klipsch 5.2 speaker setup. All I can say is that this unit blew the Denon AVR-S750H out of the WATER! The unit lit up my speakers considerably more. I ran the calibration tool and also updated the firmware upon unboxing. I highly recommend this unit. I have it playing movies off of my NAS Plex server, and it complements it extremely well, preserving audio/video quality. Also, I plugged in my vinyl player and this unit supports a phono input natively, so that was also a huge plus for me. “Straight” sound mode really brought out the best quality sound using The Vinyl player.

Okay. The Yamaha RX-V6A is my 3rd Yamaha receiver. The other two are enjoying well-deserved rests. I really like this new look of the RX-V6A. It's sleek, clean, and still a good sized unit. The face screen is easy to work. But enough of it's appearance. Setup was a breeze. Took all of 10 minutes. Sound quality is very good. I listen to streaming HD and Ultra HD music most of the day. The DAC in the unit covers it well. Highs are really crisp with lows to match. DAC handles 16 bit / 44.1 khz along with 24 bit/192 with a capability of up to 32 bit / 384 khz. Looking forward to when streamers are at 32 bit. 7.2 or 5.2 Dolby Digital Plus for movies and TV. Both DTS-X and Dolby Atmos work excellent with Netflix, Disney +, VUDU, and, of course, Blu-ray, 4k discs. Video quality is great. 4K, HDR10, and Dolby vision are clean, clear and loaded with color. I'll be happy when the remaining firmware updates are available. Supposed to be this month. Looking forward to the update on Dolby Height Virtualization. Overall I'm happy with my purchase of the Yamaha RX-V6A. Delivery time was good from Best Buy. About a week. I recommend the RX-V6A.

Great receiver for the price. Like the sound and features it gives. This is the third Yamaha receiver I’ve had that has had issues with the power supply, so idk if that’s just Yamaha for you or I’ve had bad luck. Pictures are me taking it to geek squad after having power supply issues.

I had a Yamaha RXV-385. Great receiver. I bought the RX-V6A because it has more power, Dolby Atmos and a host of other features. Including phono input for my turntable. The unit is visually striking. Hook up was a breeze. Everything works as it should. No problems with Bluetooth. But the main thing is the sound quality, which is excellent. Whether watching movies or vinyl, or listening to tidal or apple music, the sound quality is superb. The unit has performed flawlessly. Hook up to my Wi-Fi was simple and fast. Soon as I turned the unit on, it notified me a firmware update was available. That took just a couple of minutes. All in all I love this receiver. Super easy to set up, great features, plenty of power, and awesome sound quality. And its a Yamaha, which has always been a reliable brand for me. Couldn't be happier!

Best receiver I've had. Takes some getting used to when adjusting sound settings but we'll with the time. I run 9 klipsch speakers and 5 klipsch subs with this all in stereo mode and it performs flawlessly. I did buy a cooler fan to place on top of it because they do like to get warm quickly. Fan keeps it running where it should.

This Yamaha RX-V6A paired with my Klipsch 5.1.2 setup has completely transformed my home theater. The sound is crystal clear, punchy, and immersive...especially with Dolby Atmos enabled. It honestly brings me back to my car stereo days when great sound gave you goosebumps. Setup was simple, and the YPAO calibration dialed everything in nicely. Whether I’m watching a movie or gaming on my PS5, the detail and surround effects are unreal. If you're upgrading from an older system like I did, this is 100% worth the investment.

Good, but could be better. Very easy to use and plug and play, but I wish the zone output could be more configurable and not part of only two settings, but that could just be me wanting it to be more tweakable

I purchased Yamaha receiver to replace old Onkyo unit. Very nice audio and 4k video pass through is very good. Music Cast app is easy to use for controlling the unit. Zone 2 took a little research in the online user’s manual to setup, but it now works great. Overall, good receiver.

I had an older Yamaha receiver and I replaced it with this Yamaha - RX-V6A. I could not be more pleased with the sound quality that I am getting out of this joint! Setup was a breeze and the wireless streaming is big time. I don’t have any 8K devices, but at least my receiver will be ready when I cross that bridge.

4K Upscaling Does not Appear to work

I ordered and set up this receiver in October, 2020 for a home theater with Epson 5050UB projector and 7.1 speakers config, with a desire to somewhat "future-proof" the setup. I don't have any sources to test the now-well-publicized 4K/120hz bug, I do have 4k/[24, 60] sources and 1080p sources. The unit manual describes the receiver's 4k upscaling feature as follows: HDMI > 4K Upscaling: "Selects whether to use 4k upscaling of the HDMI video signal. If this function is set to "On", 1080p content is displayed at 4K resolution." I have attached this receiver both to my projector as well as a 4k-capable TV. When using a 4k source (eg Chromecast with Google TV) both are able to show the video properly and the Signal Information menus both on the Projector/TV and from the receiver confirm that fact - great! If however I select 1080p content (eg a Nintendo Switch) and enable 4K Upscaling, no signal is sent from the receiver to the output device. There are per-source options for HDMI Video Format (see attached capture from manual) should there be issues with the 4k signal, Modes 1 and 2 have the same result. At this point it appears the receiver simply fails to output any workable signal when 4k Upscaling is enabled on a 1080p source. The workaround is to keep 4k Upscaling disabled, which I guess means just another "feature" to cross off the list of what this receiver is actually capable of. The receiver is on firmware version 1.23 (0945). I reached out to Yamaha over 2 weeks ago (Ref.#02456452ref:_00D30F1z._5004S23Yac:ref) and have not heard back despite their auto-reply saying they'd reply in 1-2 business days. If I do get any response or resolution through firmware update I will update the review.

So far so good. I actually bought the cheaper version of this Yamaha hoping it would be as good as the one i was replacing. It wasn't, so i upgraded to this one. I'm glad i did. Good price point for what i needed. Wifi, 7.1 if i ever need it. Easy setup, also a phono jack which was a surprise. I dont really care for the design and big round volume nob. Still nice looking. Only a okay remote. I use my old Yamaha remote still. I would definitely recommend

I've been using this Yamaha AV receiver for about 4 months, and I'm really pleased with my choice. The remote access through the MusicCast app is fantastic. I also appreciate how well Tidal and Spotify are integrated into this unit. It's worth noting that Tidal only plays CD quality (16-bit, 44.1kHz) despite having the HiFi Max subscription, but it still sounds great.

I purchased the Yamaha RX-V6A 7.2-channel AV Receiver from Best Buy last month, and I am extremely pleased with it. The setup was straightforward, and the sound quality is outstanding. It delivers a powerful and immersive audio experience specially paired with good speakers. I have 5 polk speakers attached to it, and the receivers delivers a rich base to the speakers. I do not have to use a subwoofer at all, making movie nights and music listening sessions much more enjoyable. The range of features, including Dolby Atmos and DTS support, adds a new dimension to my home theater system. Additionally, the receiver's sleek design and intuitive interface make it a great addition to my living room. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this receiver to anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup.
