For these speakers, and all Musiccast speakers, you need a Yamaha receiver with musicCast capability. If you have thjs, the musiccast app allows you to run any source including AM/FM from it tuner to these speakers. You will need a wireless router in your home for the Yamaha receiver to connect with. The speakers also connect to this WiFi router. If yor tuner in or connected to a yamaha amp ir receiver with musiccast hears an over the air FM broadcast, these speakers should still receive the FM broadcast even if you have a very poor internet connetion, This is because that traffic is intranet (just inside the house). The further the speakers and/or yamaha receiver are from the router the better router you will need. Only MusicCast speakers will operate over WiFi to the Yamaha receiver. They are controlled by the MusicCzst app on your phone or tablet that is also connected to tge WiFi router (no need for good internet excel to download the app). Many Yamaha receivers can send any source of sound to any Bluetooth speaker once you pair them and keep them within Bluetooth range. That is controlled by settings on the receiver itself. That setting is not accessible with that Musiccast app. Hope this helps.
