“Hi I'm studying this turntable and I note that it has a pre amp. With my old turn table I needed to have a separate in line pre amp to get it to work with my old receiver. Will I still need the old pre Amp?”

Kind of a late response, but no. You don't need one. However, if the phono preamp that you currently have is better, you can use that instead of this one. You would hook it up and then just make sure to select "thru" on the back of this turntable (others might say "line" if you are looking at other turntables).
