This Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 Tablet, with Precision Pen 2, model number ZA8W0015US, uses A-GPS and WiFi Location Services for location-based APPs. This feature will only work when this Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 is connected to a WiFi signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tablet needs wifi to work, so although Google Maps or other driving apps can be downloaded, it will only work and be accurate with wifi connection
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In practical terms, yes and no. First, a RANT: Many of us USE Wifi Tablets and devices, from WiFi Tethered to devices like a phone, or many can pick up native Wifi on the road, from many providers automatically. SO, GPS is a MANDATORY part of a useful TABLET! Add it BACK IN to even the WiFi Models. (Lenovo's "Chester" would likely have agreed if he was still there.) The A-GPS that is native, is supposed to pick up at least one satellite, (verify w/search "A-GPS"), and work IF you also have WiFi on/working. But, it won't even SEE Waze in Google Play Store, so you can't install it from there. OTOH, I think I may get the latest version from my (WiFi only) 10" Yoga-Smart-Tab and then try to install / side-load it. It SHOULD work. Waze Support site has MANY answers that say, "Get 'this old' version 'linked', and side-load the app and it should work". These answers were for problems with NOT finding GPS. I know Waze works without GPS, just not as accurately since it mainly uses cell towers. So, it should EITHER see the A-GPS, or no GPS, and still work. I also installed GLYMPSE and it showed my house, automatically. So, I know GPS sort of works. IF you do get it to work. I tether the (old 10") tablet to my phone's WiFi, and it works rather flawlessly.
