nothing significantly cheaper, no. just get the yubikey usb-a as backup since it's half the cost of the usb-c version
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on what functions you use routinely, the Yubico Security Key could be a good backup. It costs $29. The Security Key series supports FIDO2, U2F, and WebAuthn. The Yubikey 5 supports TOTP, HOTP, PIV, PGP and a few others.

However, I can recommend that a secure email and written backup codes are a less expensive solution than purchasing two keys. It depends on what your use-case supports, obviously, and as always, please take time to research the comparability of these alternative methods and physical security keys.
