Please try again later.I find the stand to be just right for my eyesight...ergonomics suggest your head level and eyes looking straight ahead should be just above the center of the screen (for the average height person that point on the screen i am referring to is usually about eighteen inches above the desk surface) The shelf surface is 6 1/2" above the desk surface. The instructions say the shelf is NOT designed to hold a monitor, but mine seems to be holding it up just fine, and I have a 30" widescreen monitor. Hope that helps.
