- Answer No the case doesn't detach from the keyboard. Now..it does detach from the rugged version, but take my word for it, the rugged is not a good choice. Opt for this particular keyboard.

QuestionWhat does the charger for the iPad mini keyboard/case look like

- Answer The charger cord should have the tiny male insert on one end and the standard USB male insert on the other end. The charger unit that comes with the iPad is sufficient for charging. I use an aftermarket charger that allows me to recharge two items at the same time. Best Buy and Cable warehouse offer a selection of products.
