Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure about the Smart Connector. I'll have to look into it. However, what I do know is the keyboard does need to be charged after 90 days. I have yet to reach 90 days. Keyboard has yet to let me down. I'm pretty impressed so far, since the keyboard gets utilized daily and for a minimum of 2 hours.

Please try again later.Yes this requires charging..the cable is hidden in the box and easily missed..if you press the fun and Carl keys together the top right battery icon glows green if charged and red if needing charging..the backlight feature won't work if the keyboard is less than 25% charged so when it quits, the keyboard needs recharging even though the keyboard works fine...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, it has a Smart Connector. And yes, it needs charging -- once in a blue moon. Seriously, I've had mine for a couple of months, with frequent daily use, and I have only charged it once -- when I first opened the package.
