It goes over phone then you put phone in otterbox case

It goes directly on your glass screen of your cell. It mostly goes on with the otter box that has no screen cover.
Otherwise it would goes underneath otter box but makes it hard to swipe and type because of the double screen protectors.

The screen protector covers the phone screen to keep it from cracking, getting scratched, or dirty. I did not like the Otterbox with the screen cover as it did not work well in my opinion.
