• No, the older iPad is most likely the 9.7. I have the 6th gen (have had since. 2013) as well as the 8. The 6th is 9.7inches while the 8 is 10.5.

• It is not so much of the model, but rather the size. If it is from 7-8 yrs ago, then it is probably one of the first iPads, and I do not believe it is compatible with any of them. Hope this helps, carla.
