• Yes, will shut off after a brief period of time when not in use especially when I fall asleep while reading. Also shuts off upon closing the case.

• I wish it did buy mine does not. When I close the iPad over the keyboard the display remains lit. I have to either let it timeout or I have to press the wake/sleep button to put it to sleep.
