Can I use 8 inch duct null

Hello, A 10" round is required as this hood has a 1200 CFM blower. If smaller ducting is used, it will make the hood sound much louder than normal, and also put more strain on the motor causing it to die faster. This would also be considered an install error, and installation isn't covered under the warranty. Thank you for your inquiry! - Zephyr
