Yes, this phone will work on Tracfone. No you will not need to buy a SIM card if you are already a customer.

As for the sim, you should be able to swap it from the current phone it's in and put it in the Axon 7, but that's really up to the carrier. In most cases, just swapping it in will work since the Axon is unlocked.

I asked both Best Buy and Tracfone if this phone would work with Tracfone both said yes and I found on both parties web site that it would work. I bought phone from Best Buy and proceeded to activate it. It was a nightmare. Took several days and hours on phone. The sims card that was supposed to work did not. They said try another one it did not work. Old phone got cancelled out another night mare to reactivate it. I had to return phone to Best Buy and they gave me a total refund. I thought it was a very nice phone with some features that were better than a Samsung at half the price. I am no longer a customer of Tracfone and signed up with Jitterbug for seniors. It costs a little more but they know what they are talking about. They have dozens of videos that explain step by step how to use each feature of YOUR MODEL phone. Or you can talk to an American who slowly and clearly speaks with no accent to answer your questions in great detail. Now a days this is unheard of for a company to actually speak to their customers in stead of a computer voice going down a menu of possible subjects that don't quite match your question. Now days it is give me your money here is your product you figure it out. Check out their web site and even call them then make your decision.
