My old Logitech speakers finally died after about 12 years so I decided to purchase a new set. After researching different sets i decided on this one and i am glad i did. It is very easy to set up and it sounds amazing! It has great bass and i really like that it has the volume control on the smaller speaker since my old one had a separate cord on top of the sub for volume. My moms logitech speakers just quit working a few days ago and i convinced her to purchase these for her computer also. She loves the way they sound and said its a great update from her little $20 set she had. I would highly recommend these.

Quality 2.1 Speaker System

I don't know if I've ever rated any product a full 5-stars, but this Logitech speaker system certainly deserves it. Not only does it sound great, but everything about it, including the connections, exudes quality. Logitech certainly knows computer speakers. I hesitated to pay over $100 for computer speakers, but I listen to a lot of music at my computer. And while my old computer speakers, an older, less expensive Logitech X240 2.1 system sounded good, they just didn't have the power for loud volume without distortion. (They currently provide rich audio for my TV.) No problem with 200-watts of distortion free RMS power with the new Z623 system. I cannot recommend this speaker system highly enough.

Bought these Logitech Z623 computer speakers after my 14 year old Klipsch Pro Media set died a fast death. I thought I would be trading down but after hearing these I traded up. Set-up is so easy and intuitive Logitech doesn't even provide a guide. I have a lot of music on my computer and I definitely heard content I never heard before. This set is more powerful then I expected. The speakers give a clear, crisp sound and the bass is strong, There are knobs for volume and bass adjustments on the right speaker so you can dial in just what you want. The whole set is compact so it won't take up a lot of space on your desk.

Good speakers for its price

I love great audio and have a good mid-range $500 5.1 speaker system setup for when I need that sound at home, but I wanted some decent speakers that could be use for a smaller space and the 5.1 system was definitely an overkill for that. If you are shopping for some decent quality speakers without a huge budget, but aren't sure what to get, this may help you. (TLDR: It depends on what you are looking for)
For comparisons, I have/had the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1, The Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers, and a 2.0 speakers Edifier e25 Luna. All of these speakers I would say can fill a small room easily with sound, but aren't designed for big parties.
The Pro Media and Z623 are closest in comparisons as they are both 2.1 speaker systems and are at a close price point when on sale. The z623 is slightly cheaper ($80), but is offset by the fact that it doesn't have bluetooth (could be a con, see below) and is slightly inferior in sound quality to the Pro Media ($100). The Edifier for a side comparison is a 2.0 speaker system that is significantly more than the other two when comparing sale prices as well (~$130-$160). Of course your mileage may vary with sale pricing.
Overall, I would say the Klipsch has the best sound quality of the 3. It has the best all around sound in the frequency spectrum. I would say to get this one if not for one HUGE caveat that stopped me from buying it -- It has bluetooth that cannot be turned off. This means that if you have the system permanently setup, it's possible neighbors or people nearby can connect to it and ruin your life without you having any control over it. Deal breaker for me. There are non-bluetooth models around, but I haven't seen them on sale much.
The Z623 was about $20 cheaper when on sale than the Klipsch, and has great bass and treble, but I found the mid range a little lacking in comparison to the highs and lows. This can be relatively smoothed out by using software equalizers to be better, but it was worth mentioning if you like/need having out of the box balanced sound. For the price though, they are still very good sounding and I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again at the sale price.
Finally, for a comparison with a 2.0 setup, the Edifier e25 Lunas are beautiful speakers and also the most expensive of the bunch. Lacking a subwoofer, it's instantly noticable for music or SFX that has a lack of low frequency bass ~60hz or less. No amount of equalizer can compensate for the speakers not having a subwoofer. However for everything that heavy bass emphasized, it was fantastic. Ironically this was also a positive in my book because I wanted speakers that could play great music without bothering my neighbors at night. These speakers also have bluetooth that anyone can connect to, but the bluetooth can be turned off.
So what's the best of the bunch? It depends on your needs. All I can say is that I wouldn't hesitate to get either the Z623 or Edifier e25 on sale as long as you understand their limitations.

Man, I tell ya, I hooked this up thinking eh, it’ll be ok, haha. WHOA! Yeah, it’s loud. Very balanced, the speakers don’t distort, and the bass is cleeeeeeean. I listen to a lot of music and I make hip hop for fun on the side, so these things fit the bill perfectly. No, they aren't studio monitors but they are a far cry from the Bonks I was running (google them lol, it’s a gas). Highly recommended, good value for the bucks.

So, I was going to Best Buy to buy a cheap computer monitor speaker. I was only going to be staying in the place I was at for three months, and wanted to spend as little as possible, because they were probably gonna get thrown away when I left. I started listening to all of their options, and ended up paying full price for this amazing set of speakers, and then had to carry them around with me when I left. Simply put, these sound utterly fantastic. Their base is booming. Their mids and highs are absolutely clear. You can adjust settings. They are THX certified, and if you don’t know what that means, that means they sound even better than this review can say. You know they’re good, when you pay full price. The only thing that I wish, is that they had an optical input. These are high enough quality that you could hook them up to your TV. Very happy with this purchase.

That’s an awesome story—and a glowing endorsement! The Logitech Z623 really does punch above its weight with booming bass, crisp mids and highs, and studio-quality sound. Even without an optical input, it’s clear these speakers made a lasting impression. Thanks for sharing your experience!

These things are SO loud and clear. I’m using them for my Xbox and monitor in my 10*11 ft bedroom. These things get so loud I can’t turn them up all the way. The bass rattles my pictures and clock on the wall. I’ve only turned them up 3/4 of the way and am just blown away by the sound quality. You can hear the music across the house and feel the bass on the front porch. I absolutely 100% recommend these speakers if you like your games, movies, and music loud and booming. All for only $120!!! Oh and the bass nob is always set to the middle for me so I can’t imagine turning them up higher.

I narrowed down my options between this and the Klipsch equivalent. I'd say if you want a bit more on the bassy side, go for this unit. If you'd like a livelier sound, go for the Klipsch. The main factor as to why I'd also prefer this unit is that it's generally cheaper than the Klipsch equivalent. Only thing I wish this had is a remote pod instead of having the controls on the unit, but then again my TV isn't too far away and I'm not lazy enough to get up and change things :)

I took it out of the box and hooked it up under less than 12 Minutes or so and the sound is awesome. My laptop sounds like a theater with my new Logitech surround sound speakers and subwoofer which has a powerful punch on movie trailers as well as music on Spotify and YouTube techno and dubstep music with bass boost or bass drops type of music which I listen to online. So here’s what you get inside the big box you get a large subwoofer and 2 tweeter satellite speakers that is by the ways THX Certified from the theater’s as they are manufactured and you get audio cables which connects from the aux port to the headphone jack of the laptop or desktop pc which the speaker system comes with. You the option to getting a red and white audio cable which is sold separately for game console or to connect to the back of tv. You can go on Amazon to purchase a Bluetooth device which would work on the Logitech thx speaker system as well. I know that for a fact because I did my research on that before I purchased my Logitech gaming speakers. I recommend for people to get the 2 year geek squad protection plan to protect the speakers against any power surge or any damage which would mean that they would replace or repair the gaming speakers system at a little to no cost to you. I highly recommend this system to my friends and family. I have my speakers on volume z6 & volume 7 and the subwoofer and speakers sound vibrates my computer desk with it’s awesome rich bass music and the tweeters speakers also has rich sweet sounds from different instruments from the band performance music. I love my Logitech speaker system a lot and it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made and owned.

Replacing 10 year old computer speaker that I thought were good but these Logitech blows them away. The sound is crystal clear and the base thumps the house a room away. I have them connected to the tv and in the back of the room by my chair one speaker on each side which is where I recommend the speakers to be placed. Also love the bass control on the speaker. Don't always want tons of bass and can easily adjust.
My choice was these Logitech or a surround system. These are 1/4 the price of cheapest surround and yet because of the THX, action movies or music comes alive with the punchy base.
I highly recommend the z623 speaker system but I have to mention one con. At the rated watts, I thought the sound would be louder so I question the total real output. Sound quality is superb but does quickly distort at near full volume. They are plenty loud for what they are and for my needs but if you are trying to fill a huge room(s) with very loud sound, I guess there is no substitute for speaker size. I used to have back in the day (80's) 100 watt rms with 15" woofers that would rattle knickknacks off the shelves but I now live in the city and want happy neighbors. If I had more visitors over, I would add one more z623 system for up front by the TV and would be 1/2 the price of nearest surround system cost.
Speaker placement. I have had subwoofers place up front in the 18' living room and this one I put back next to my recliner. Glad I did because I get way more immediate punchy accurate bass at a lower volume in that location.

I originally was planning to purchase the Logitech Z533 speaker system when I found out that the Z623 was on sale and thus cheaper. I am totally satisfied with the PC speaker system. Sound is nice and crisp. For movies and music I downloaded an equalizer which improved the mids. Amazing highs and great bass.
