It's an adaptor so you can use the EF lenses with your canon R. Also give it a control ring feature so it works like the RF lenses. You can configure it so it'll perform a desired camera function. Or change iso, f stop, aperture, exposure comp... Etc. A must have if you wish to use your collection of older lenses with the new Canon R

The EFVlens works great. can not wait to get new RF lens. I shot a reception with EF 24-70. Great pics.
