Quite frankly, I don't see much of a point to the LEDs since I can't see the sides of my head -- who looks in the mirror when gaming? Personally, I'd like to think I'm not that vain. About 9-10 months into owning this headset, however, it started malfunctioning. This began with random bursts of painfully loud static. I thought it was going to blow my eardrums out, it was so loud when it did it. For the last month or so, however, it simply stops working randomly. Yes, I've tried it in different ports. My tower has 12 or so USB ports, and these cut out in any of them, including ports where I have been using other peripherals without issue for years. I'm not alone in this problem: others are reporting the same issue on Logitech's support boards. No answers from Logitech, though. Thankfully, Logitech has a 2 year warranty on this headset -- I hope they replace it. Looking to buy? The sound is very nice. Buttons are a bit confusing as they all have the same feel. I personally feel the LEDs are pointless, which didn't occur to me until after I started using the headset (I didn't care one way or the other beforehand). If you are really set on purchasing this headset, I would definitely recommend BestBuy's protection plan. Being able to just take it to a store and get a replacement immediately would be a lot easier than what I am about to go through to get warranty service.
