We had a GE that was similar to this, but returned it because of how loud the warning tones it has are. The Insignia has a very soft tone alert to tell you the tank is full so no overnight wake-ups if it gets full. It keeps our 500 square feet basement nice and comfortable around 50% humidity as we set it. It can not get much lower than that for the size of the room although the big tank lets it run for quite a while.

Works well. meets all expectations. I am using this in the basement. It may be slightly quieter than the unit it is replacing. It is a portable dehumidifier. You can hear it running . It does not make and disturbing sounds when it turns on and off. it has adjustable settings and a 2 speed fan.Attaching a drainage hose was easy. I would recommend this product, and purchase another one without hesitation.

For the price, this is a great dehumidifier. I have this running all day in the basement with a set humidity %. I recommend so far.

These are workhorses and very effective. I have 2 in a partial basement in a southern state with high humidity. I believe this has helped substantially. Not too loud but not silent. Similar to having a box fan running in the room at night with you.

Debated between this one and a Hisense from Costco. Ordered Costco's then read the reviews on how loud it was, that I returned it when it arrived and bought this one. It's in a backroom of the basement, where the old one that died was. We would hear that one through out the basement. This one you have to walk up to it to know it is on.

Had to purchase this summer for the basement in our new house. Didnt realize how bad it was until I put this to work. Has been running great so far.

Definitely get the bigger 50 pint one! It's easy to use and heavier than you'd expect so be careful when you take it out of the box. Surprised how much water it takes out every day! I just dump the water in the tub, and that works fine for me.

I’ve got a decently dry, non-leaky basement however it has a musty smell. Anything absorbent would tend to mildew as well. Was like that when I moved in 4.5 years ago. I don’t know what I was waiting for but I got this unit running and it’s like night and day. No more musty smell. It was recommended from the DTE website as being Energy Efficient with a $25 DTE rebate. Very Happy!

So far seems to work well in my 1000+ sq/ft finished basement. Picked up while on sale, cant beat the price.

This is a great value. I have had other dehumidifiers and this price beats them all. Most of the construction and options and much better than other products much higher priced. I’m very happy with this and definitely recommend. The only issue I have is the reservoir bucket doesn’t fit well when you reinsert it however for the price I can totally over look the difficulty of putting the reservoir back in. You should check and see if your energy prover has a rebate and save even more money.

The beeper when pressing the buttons is _really loud_, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off. It also activates this when removing the bucket to empty it, even when it's "off" (no lights on top, etc). This is annoying enough for me to remove a star. It's also fairly loud when operating. I don't have any other dehumidifiers to compare against, but it's definitely noticeable. This does fine as a dehumidifier. It does a good job pulling water out of the air. Removing the bucket to empty it is easy.

This replaced a unit from a different manufacturer purchased from a different retailer that lasted one year. My original unit lasted several years and I was sorry to see it go. This unit does what I needed. It’s light and simple to use. Only negative is the bucket is finicky to insert after dumping the water. I can live with it. If I was guaranteed several years of life I’d be very happy. If it fails in a year it will lose all of my stars.

Great find for my basement. I do wish it included the drain hose.

I love this dehumidifier so much that this is my second one this year. Have one in the house to help the ac and now I have one in the basement to keep humidity low there too!

Bought this for my basement which is damp and musty from early spring until late fall without one. Price was good and was an impulse buy while I was doing my Christmas shopping. Did not need to buy it but couldn't pass up the deal as these are hard to find in season. My old unit of a different brand is noisy and getting louder over time. A neighbor has one of these and it is much quieter. It came recommended by them so I will get to see for myself how well it works for me this season but expect it will easily meet my needs.
