I initially wanted the cheaper version which was the essentials, but they were out of stock at my local store. I managed to pick this version instead. I bought this strictly for the Nintendo Switch and I saw a 30% speed gain compared to a wireless connection(close proximity to the modem). The wired is undoubtedly stable compared to playing online with a wireless connection.

Best decision to use cable download to PC instead of Wi-Fi, this is more secure and undoubtedly faster when you are using your PC from work station. Plug your Ethernet cable from your modem/router to the Ethernet adapter end and the USB end to your USB-A port of your computer and you are in business. My PC is Windows 11 and it connected without a glitch. Most new laptop PC’s are designed to be lighter/thinner and thus lack an Ethernet port, this is where this INSIGNIA USB to Ethernet adapter is a necessity.
