Not thickly padded but firm and comfortable.

It is still holding up physically. No real signs of wear other than what my cats have done to it here and there. I recommend this chair. I often fall asleep reclined in it lol

He was able to assemble himself as the instructions were ckear and easy to follow. Chair is comfortable and provides good support.

Reminder there’s a 15 day return policy on this item anything over that you need to go through warranty and that’s a nightmare.
