The HP produck is good enough to be a second back-up printer. Copy quality is satisfactory. It was difficult to install and we finally needed the help of the Geek Squad. Curiously the print bed lumination stays on all thr time.

Easyto set up, but no display menu to use when u run across problems

This printer is designed to sell ink cartridges. The first thing you need to understand is that they will continue to try and sell you on their “Instant Ink Program” which is a subscription based program that give you the choice of how many pages a month that you can print, if you go over that amount, then you are charged accordingly. The biggest thing to understand is that the “Instant Ink” cartridges have coding in them so that if you want to cancel your monthly subscription, your printer will stop working and not tell you what is wrong. It is impossible to get any support from HP, or to find out what the error codes are without extending your warranty coverage through HP. I was finally able to find out the problem at a 3rd party website. As long as you buy a non-instant ink cartridge, it will work normally, you just have to pay attention to the “Instant Ink” label on their website and not buy them. If I didn’t already own this printer, I would dump HP completely and buy another brand. You just have to understand that the reason you are getting this printer so cheap is because they are going to kill you later on the cost of the cartridges and trick you into the subscription

It’s small, pretty and simple . Problem is, it only works 1/2 the time. Doesn’t communicate with Microsoft surface, iPhones or iPad consistently. Have to re install the printer on any device often. A pain in the neck to be honest
