Every time I use it, im surprised by the performance it offers. Plays my games pretty well and is incredible for game streaming. I bought it Open Box in Excellent condition and it feels like new. Controllers feel great, screen looks pretty darn good without any visible wear or scratches. Would recommend this handheld, and very happy with Best Buy's Open Box products.

I'm writing this review after a couple months' ownership of the device. I had initially intended to get an ROG Ally, but ran into not being able to activate Windows on that device led me to return it and get the Legion Go instead. I'm certainly glad that I did, as the Legion Go has been a fantastic device. The device, to me, well fills the gap between doing things on a phone and a larger tablet / laptop. I frequently browse the web and consume YouTube on it. The 8" 1440p touch screen displays with vibrant colors. I've been able to play pretty much any game I've thrown at it without issue -- Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Rocket League, Goat Simulator, emulators, etc. The Hall effect joysticks are smooth and responsive, and the buttons and triggers have a nice weight to their action. Depending on performance settings and use case, I can get somewhere between an hour and a half to around six hours on a charge. While not fantastic, it's more than adequate for the time I typically have to sit around and play. On the other hand, the downsides are that I haven't quickly found a way to re-map the Legion Space button (I haven't searched for hacky workarounds, just official methods). I'd like to use Windows' built-in XBox Game Bar instead of Lenovo's wrapper around all the game stores I already install individually. Also, there isn't room for the charger in the included hard-shell case, only the device itself. I would have liked a bit of extra storage, but I already carry a GoPro case for my tech accessories so it's not a deal breaker. Finally, I would recommend also getting a Bluetooth keyboard to accompany the device. Not a fault of the device itself, but the Windows on-screen keyboard takes up a large proportion of the screen, so seeing what you're typing can be a nuisance. I have an ikon MKB80 that I picked up abroad for cheap that serves this purpose well.

I went into the store looking to get a gaming laptop. I ended up leaving having purchased the legion go, and I haven’t regretted it for a minute. It has intuitive system controls that you can access with the click of a button. I it getting a little hot? Turn the fans up and feel it cool down in seconds. Get up to 2k quality at 144hz refresh rate. The screen is the biggest in a handheld I’ve seen. The controllers are removable and you have to check out fps mode. Just look it up because describing it doesn’t do it justice. Overall, I’ve had this device for a few months now and am very glad I got this and not a laptop.

Much better now than it was at launch

Software updates made this thing much more worth it! I tried it at launch and was disappointed with loud fan noise and really quiet speakers. For all the weight and sharp corners, it just added up to a miss for me sadly. But Lenovo has been working on smoothing out the software and I wanted to give it another shot because I missed that screen. Glad I did! I don't know if there was a hardware revision or what, but I barely notice the fans now. Still gets pretty hot. The speakers, out of the box, are still too quiet but the community has a solution -- turns out, Lenovo has a default mixer setting that you should definitely disable. Not sure what they were thinking, but once you turn that off and tweak the equalizer, the speakers are LOUD. Check out youtube or reddit for more info. Still not crazy about the sharp corners, but this thing is basically still a great grab especially if you can get it on sale or open box (since the Go S (Z1) and the Go 2 are coming out this year.

Very amazing quality! Don't go in thinking it's a Nintendo switch. It's much more Pro's: 1. Literally a portable computer. 2. Huge screen for immersion 3. Amazing graphics for a handheld 4. Beyond amazing for editing (video editing picture editing) Cons: 1. Huge can be a downside, it can't be pocketed 2. Poor battery life even when playing games that aren't intensively draining. (Rog Ally suffers this too) 3. Emulation can be annoying to set up do to maneuvering on the screen 4. Buttons when detached and using in "Fps mode" can feel odd even though they're not in use in this mode.

Setting up the device is a breeze, and I'm genuinely blown away by the Go's performance. It breezes through games that even my gaming laptop stumbles with, delivering silky-smooth gameplay ranging from 60 to 140 fps. Plus, as someone who's always on the go for work, this device is a lifesaver! I can squeeze out about an hour and a half on max settings unplugged, and up to three hours when I dial them down. So, if you're in the market for a powerful yet portable Windows device, this one's a winner in my book. Ps. There are also many youtube videos on it for guidance which is also nice.

This thing is a powerhouse for handheld gaming — runs AAA titles smoothly and looks amazing on the 144Hz screen. The controls feel solid and the storage size is perfect. I ended up returning it only because it’s a bit too big for daily travel. Otherwise, great device.

The Legion go offers great performance and versatility for a handheld PC. The Switch-like controllers and great stand on the back make for a solid tabletop performer as well. The Xbox app along with Steam or any other launcher you choose will work well on it. The screen is huge and is only bested by the Steam deck OLED quality wise. The battery life isnt great, but the steam deck is the only handheld PC ive tried that has decent battery life. If you plan to use the Legion Go on the go hopefully you have an outlet nearby.

A fantastic handheld gaming pc. I’ve had just about every recent “mainstream” handheld since the steamdeck. And the Legion go is by far my favorite. It tick every button I could want. Track pad, 2 usb ports, huge screen, detachable controllers, easy maintenance with an easily removable back, comes with case. As far as cons go. It’s heavy No 2280 ssd. (Can be converted) That’s about it. ( for me) Battery. In my use case it has plenty. For the games and time I play away from home.

A perfect device but with flaws

Adding to my very contradicting title I feel as if this device is perfect….. for me but despite that it has its flaws that I still wanna address because let’s be honest it doesn’t matter if your looking to pick this up or the other handhelds on the market they all have their own pros and cons. First off like many have mentioned already the screen and big and beautiful colors pop and the extra real estate you get with it is a huge plus. On the flip side it lacks vrr (variable refresh rate, which helps with frame drops in games not become as noticiable if the legion go did support it) but to me this wasn’t really a deal breaker but I thought I should mention it. Also compared to the steam deck the software side of things are still much to be desired. The legion go has extra buttons on the side and back of the handheld but the software(which is called legion space) support limited key mapping for the device leaving a lot of button not being able to be used properly or at all. Of course you can find other apps to bind them but I hope that in the future you can go into the native software app and change the buttons on the fly. Besides those to cons I live everything else about the device from the detachable controllers to the kick stand, the larger battery capacity compared to other devices ,and the faster ram makes this a must have if the above pros have intrigued you, you won’t be disappointed!

Dope purchase, I mean like this thing is killing the market of handheld pcs. Bro with docking or without docking it's on another level I'm telling you fr I chose this baby over rog ally x because of the price, screen size, detachable controllers and premium features.

I came from the Asus ROG Ally, and let me tell you, the screen size difference is definitely a treat for the eyes. It plays games just as well as the ROG Ally does. The removable controls is definitely a place if you're feeling the need to sit back and play your games as holding this device sometimes can be a little tiring even though shockingly, its not that heavy. One annoying thing about it, like the ROG Ally, is poor battery life.

The Lenovo Legion Go is an impressive gaming handheld that delivers top-notch performance. Its comfortable design, powerful handheld gaming device make it a great choice for gamers. The portability, with Bluetooth connectivity adds versatility. However, some users may find its battery life a bit short for extended gaming sessions. Overall, the Legion Go offers a fantastic gaming experience and is a solid choice for gamers on the go. After setting it up and customizing it its great. Currently playing Dead Space on it.

    Legion Go Review

The Legion Go has got to be my favorite handhelp PC to date. I have the ROG Ally and the Steam Deck OLED as well and this device surprises me evey day. The 8.8 inch screen is beautiful and really nice when playing fps games or even playings top down RTS style games. The battery life is a huge surprise for me. My Ally only gets about an hour of gameplay when playing a AAA game and the legion go gets about 2 and a half hours in the same games. It doesnt seem like much, but it means alot when you’re deep into a COD match or even fighting a boss in elden ring. With the Legion go having detachable controlers, it really makes this device more portable than any of the other . The “Fps” mode is not anything to write home about. FPS mode really should be called RTS mode, because it really shines when playing games like DOTA or the SIMS. I only gave the legion a 4 star because the legion software is pretty bad and the update process is tedious. If you dont like to tinker, it’ll be perfect for you. I highly recommend anyone looking to get a console or as a alternative to a stationary PC.

I almsot gave it one less because for me the trueatrike controllers dig into my hand but overall this this is a beast and will play anything. I am waiting for so.e different ergonoc controllers to come out. Lenovo has been great about letting you know whats going on and with the most recent tdp update this will run over 5 hours at low load. Get about 2 hours in performance. After using this screen I just cant go back to my steamdeck.

Hi, BrandonW. Thank you for choosing Lenovo! Regarding the battery life, depending on the demand of the game you're playing, by pressing the Legion R button to launch the quick menu, you can switch to lower power mode to save battery. In the menu, under the performance tab, users can toggle thermal modes and prioritize battery life by using the default mode or creating a custom thermal mode should you not be satisfied with the 3 presets. These adjustments can also be made by going into Legion Space > Settings (Legion Space can be launched quickly by pressing the Legion L button (Legion Logo above the button). We are glad to know that your Legion Go has been amazing overall, and we appreciate your time taken to share your experience and feedback with us. Lenovo

The Lenovo Legion Go: It really is a handheld gaming computer. It's a bit bigger than a Nintendo Switch but significantly smaller than a laptop. It's got enough juice to run Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Cyber Punk 2077. It also has a storage capacity of 1tb with a Micro-Sd card slot for additional storage. One of my favorite things about it is that it's still great for all the basic computer stuff, and it's actually great for my job. I work in security and use a lot of web-based application including a camera system. And it's portable size and adaptability make it perfect for these things. I can remove the controllers and use the kickstand to watch cameras on the go or even use the on-screen keyboard or my Bluetooth keyboard to write reports while in less than convenient places, and the fact that the right controller can be used as a mouse is also awesome. I also love the fact that it comes with a carrying case. The only two downsides I've encountered so far are the fact that some games don't want to run for some reason. For instance I can't get Saints Row 2 to play (I'm sure this'll be fixed with system and driver updates though.) And it only has to plug-in ports both of which are USB-C, but this can be fixed with an adapter. So all in all I'm a huge fan of this device and genuinely believe it to be a worth while purchase.
