I purchased an HP Envy Laptop 16" 360 at hundreds below list price. And there was a reason for that. Bought it 2/27/25, It failed on 3/12/25. "Hard drive cannot be found" "Install an OS" All home remedies came to naught. Best Buy's Chatbot ran me around in circles. Found out after buying Geek Squads one year service for all the devices I can bring in for free repair is thwarted by HP's Warranty. The customer / technical service line at HP is overseas. Having read their reviews, customers are driven to madness by the bumbling folk at what was once a good company. Sounds like a refund may be in order, IF this laptop on sale can be returned. The moral to this story is the same as walking into a on-chain used car shop - do not get waylaid by a salesman that is merely trying to move product. Want a Mac? Exit with a Mac No more shiny devices on sale. Looks great, but lousy software and hardware.

I ordered this in an open box in Excellent condition (Like New they said!) It was just a few dollars cheaper but it stated it comes with all packaging and accessories. I figured why not save a few bucks right? WRONG! I got a laptop with Best Buy stickers on it and a charger not even coiled up in a box way to big for it with two thin sheets of bubble wrap. This laptop was thrown around like a basketball inside that box during the delivery process. I immediately contacted customer service. They offered me two options. Send me a new one, or 10% off of this one.Well 10% off is nothing on a purchase this size so I asked that they just send me a new laptop. I was asked if I want to go to the store or do via mail. I live no where near a Best Buy (closest is like 2.5 hours away) I asked it to be mailed ASAP as I need a laptop for work and this was purchased to replace the Asus that died. Suddenly I was told they have none available although they show in stock at multiple locations. I have no box, no paperwork, no manufacturer label that shows date of manufacture, model and serial, no windows sticker, nothing that should have come with it. This is a complete rip off. I am beyond upset and will be returning this to purchase elsewhere and although I have always used Best Buy as my go to for electronics, I will NEVER EVER purchase from them again based on the way they handled this issue. Photos below showing exactly how this expensive laptop arrived to me. Are you serious Best Buy??!! I highly recommend this laptop but you should buy it somewhere that rectifies their mistakes on orders.

This laptop crashed after 8 months of gentle use. HP was difficult to deal with and I spent hours trying to trouble shoot and fix over the phone/chat. HP refused to take it in under warranty until I went through ALL of their many hours of troubleshooting. We Took it back to Best Buy and Geek squad were wonderful and helped us send it in under warranty, citing hard drive failure. HP sent it back two weeks later with only Windows reinstalled, no mention of new hard drive or even troubleshooting/checking hard drive. HP did everything in their power to not honor their warranty or fix the computer. We got only the very minimum from HP. We learned to always get an extended warranty so Geek Squad can repair it IN Store.
