I've used this PC for about 2 months now and rhe experience hasn't been great. It lags with basic tasks, the fan is noisy too and the battery is poor. I'm searching for a battery replacement at the moment.

Pros:
Solid Performance for Gaming:
The AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS processor is excellent for multitasking and mid-range gaming. It handles modern games on medium to high settings at 1080p smoothly.
The Radeon RX 6550M GPU is capable of running games like Fortnite, Warzone, or Valorant at respectable frame rates (typically 60–90 FPS on medium settings).
Fast SSD Storage:
The 512GB SSD offers fast boot times and quick game loading. It also provides decent space for a few large games and applications.
Efficient DDR5 Memory:
The 8GB DDR5 RAM is a step up in speed compared to DDR4, but it’s a bit limiting for resource-heavy games or multitasking (more on that below).
Design & Build Quality:
The Mica Silver finish is sleek and modern. The laptop feels sturdy, and the keyboard offers decent travel for comfortable gaming or typing.
Good Display:
The Full HD 15.6" screen delivers sharp visuals, and the colors are vibrant enough for gaming and streaming content.
Cons:
Limited RAM:
While DDR5 memory is fast, 8GB is restrictive for gaming and multitasking. Many modern games and applications benefit from 16GB or more, and you may experience occasional stutters or slowdowns when running demanding games or multiple programs.
GPU Performance Is Entry-Level:
The RX 6550M is good for casual and mid-range gaming but struggles with newer AAA titles on high or ultra settings. For gamers seeking higher performance, a stronger GPU (like an NVIDIA RTX 3060) would be more suitable.
Thermal Management:
The cooling system keeps the laptop from overheating during casual use but can get noisy under load, especially during extended gaming sessions.
Limited Storage for Power Users:
512GB fills up quickly if you install large games like Call of Duty or Red Dead Redemption 2 alongside other programs.
Battery Life:
As with most gaming laptops, battery life is not a strong suit. Expect 3–5 hours during casual use and significantly less while gaming.
Recommendations for Improvement:
Upgrade the RAM to 16GB for smoother performance in modern games and multitasking.
Consider adding an external SSD or upgrading internal storage if you need more room for games and files.
Who Is This Laptop For?
This laptop is ideal for casual gamers, students, or professionals looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop with a good balance of performance and features. It’s also a good option for those new to PC gaming who don’t need top-tier specs but want a reliable device for 1080p gaming.
Final Thoughts:
The HP Victus 15.6" is a solid entry-level gaming laptop with decent performance for its price. While there are areas for improvement (RAM and GPU power), it provides good value for casual gaming and everyday use. If you're on a budget and want a sleek, modern gaming laptop, the Victus is worth considering.

I recently purchased the HP Victus gaming laptop equipped with the AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and Radeon RX graphics, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! This laptop has truly exceeded my expectations in both performance and versatility.
First and foremost, the gaming experience is fantastic. The combination of the processor and graphics delivers smooth frame rates and stunning visuals, allowing me to fully immerse myself in my favorite games. Whether I’m diving into intense action scenes or exploring vast open worlds, the performance is consistently impressive. I appreciate how well it handles demanding titles without overheating, thanks to its efficient cooling system.
Beyond gaming, I use this laptop for audio and video editing, and it has proven to be a powerful tool for my creative projects. It handles multitasking effortlessly, allowing me to run demanding editing software while still keeping other applications open. Rendering videos and processing audio files is quick and efficient, making my workflow much more productive.
Another highlight is the display quality. The vibrant colors and sharp resolution enhance not only gaming but also movie watching. Streaming my favorite films and shows is a delight, as the laptop delivers rich visuals and clear sound quality. The battery life is also commendable, allowing me to enjoy extended viewing sessions without constantly needing to recharge.
The design of the HP Victus is sleek and modern, making it a great addition to my workspace. It’s portable enough to take to coffee shops or workspaces, and the keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions, whether I’m gaming or editing.
Overall, the HP Victus gaming laptop is a powerhouse that excels in gaming, content creation, and entertainment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and high-performing laptop for both work and play. It has truly enhanced my gaming and creative experience!

The other reviews are good and all, but some of them just don’t give a realistic idea of what you are going to be dealing with using this laptop. The bad reviews, ignore them, they only talk about the bad. The very positive reviews, ignore those too, because they will set you up with false hope. Here’s what you’ll actually experience with this laptop. If you are looking to game everyday while playing high demanding games, ignore this laptop. The price looks so good, I know, because that’s why I got it. But this laptop cannot and will not run any main title games smoothly without some setbacks. Maybe a couple years ago when games were a bit less demanding, but not now. Realistically you will only get a minimum of 60 frames if you play on the absolute worst settings, and I mean it. Not even medium settings for most games can run smoothly. Even games like roblox lag a bit. The laptop even lags with two chrome tabs open. Not to mention the battery only lasts a maximum of one hour of gaming unplugged. No I am not exaggerating. Find out for yourself. The speakers are okay, loud enough for most cases but even in a quiet room I find myself needing to turn the volume to at least 60. The screen is good honestly, if you aren’t used to anything spectacular. A bit dim if I’m being honest but I mostly play games im the dark so I don’t mind it. The keyboard is solid, no complaints except that you can’t customize the colors or brightness of the keyboard if I’m not mistakened. It is fairly lightweight, playing with it in your lap for an extended amount of time is not a chore. The build quality is plastic but it does not feel cheap. I like the build quility because the plastic allows it to be lighter. Here’s the most ideal scenario for this laptop. If you are like me, and you already have a PC/console but just want a cheap laptop you can use when you’re too tired to sit at your desk to game and you want to just chill and do some light gaming before bed, this laptop will be just fine. Or if you are buying this as a gift for a young kid, they’ll be just fine with this laptop. But don’t expect anything more than mediocre. The only reason I dont return this laptop is because I know I’ll only be using it lightly everyday. Plus the price is great. If I have to pay triple of what this laptop costs just to run my games smoother, I’d rather put up with this laptop. So buy this laptop with low expectations and you will find an enjoyable experience. I also ordered more ram so hopefully that makes this laptop better. If it makes a huge improvement, I will write another review.

Let me start out by saying the price of this laptop fluctuates a lot at Best Buy. If you get this unit on the lower side of that fluctuation this unit is one fantastic bargain. Let me start with the Pros of this unit 1:best price for performance when on sale have seen it as low as $479 recently at Best Buy 2: 144hz (freesync) display looks clean and has good brightness at all levels of indoor lighting. 3:Great CPU/APU its a 6 core 12 threads unit with Radeon 660m graphics in the APU from monitoring I have noticed that APU and the RX6550M dedicated graphics will actually function in hybrid crossfire sharing the work load accordingly. 4: Fullsize keyboard that is also back lit. 5: Easy to upgrade easy to work on very user friendly design in this market where they try to take that from the consumer. 6: Good cooling solution for unit in its price can handle 6hr game sessions no problem temp wise. Now let me get to the cons for this unit there are numerous but none deal breaking and easily remedied. 1: Single channel Ram and misleading info from HP on that, claimed DDR5-4800 8gb sodim but factory installed in and 8gb DDR5-5600b sodim from Micron so if trying to upgrade to dual channel get an 8gb 5600 sodim. Also I am not saying this as a you can do but you must do the 8gb in single channel is horrific to the CPU/APU performance of this system going dual channel is an absolute must and adding a 8gb should be your minimum investment into this machine. I personally went with A 32Gb dual channel kit for my upgrade and it flys. 2: BLOATWARE up the wazu! There is so much of some even demos for stuff that can not be removed from the system. Easy but a pain, the fix get yourself a flash drive when you get this machine 32gb stick, power up the laptop do the windows setup add the machine and its windows license to your Microsoft account, download windows 11 installation media from Microsoft web page and wireless network card drivers for the laptops wireless card. Boot this bad boy to bios change the boot device to the usb drive and Start the whole this from scratch. Do a 100% clean install of windows 11.. 3: Only a single NVME port and only a 512gb stock. If your even a bit unsure if that will be enough upgrade before you start your upgrade path do it just the once. It was only another $180 in parts to upgrade to 32gb of Ram and 2tb of NVME do it right away and call it a day. Even with the added investment this is still the best price for performance machine you will get at the time of leaving this review. Gaming only using it For games like STO, Deadisland 2, Halo infinite, and CS2 so far all of them it runs graphics all set to top settings STO, Halo and CS2 will run at 144fps matching the the monitor refresh rate. Deadisland 2 with run 90-100 fps on high settings.

Battery is not very good . Two hours when its under andvanced using.
Immidiately add more RAM because 8GB is not enough.
The plastics are oook, but nothing special.
Display its good, and colours are on the satisfied level

Here's a revised version of your review:

This device is great for the casual gamer or someone looking for a bit of extra power throughout the workday. It offers ample storage for the needs of most average users, along with decent graphics and CPU performance. The 144Hz display is a standout feature, providing a smoother experience and helping maintain a competitive edge in gaming. Another highlight is the backlit keyboard, which I find essential in various lighting situations. Overall, this is a solid laptop. Although I don't usually go for 16-inch screens, this one is surprisingly light, and I hardly noticed it in my backpack. My only wish is for a longer battery life.

While this computer can't handle AI work loads, it runs all the games I've thrown at it very well. It's fast and responsive. Wish it had more ram but I got it on sale and frankly for the price, I'm impressed. Plus it is DDR5. Battery life isn't the greatest, I took a online test for around a hour and it went down to 45% from 100%. I had it on power saver mode as well. I'm sure if I disabled the video card it would last longer. Thankfully the CPU comes with integrated graphics so that is an option. Wish it could charge with USB C but the charger that came with it isn't bulky. I've had macbook airs, macbook pro, Lenovos, and several dells; this has been the best bang for my buck so overall this computer is great for someone that wants a functional gaming laptop. Lastly, not a big fan of the track pad, use a mouse.

For the sale price you can't beat it for a starter/beginner gaming computer. I bought it to use only for games, mostly on Steam, such as Conan Exiles, Enshrouded, and Valheim. It works great for all of these and more. The fan will run quite a bit if you run High or Ultra graphics settings but I run Balanced and Medium settings and the fan is not working so hard but everything still looks snd runs great. I certainly recommend this to anyone looking to get into gaming on a budget. If you do biy one you may want to upgrade the ram to at least 16gb (it takes up to 32gb), and an upgrade to a 1 or 2 tb nvme will allow for many more games to be instslled on it. Overall, a good little machine.

This thing can run any game at 1080p high-medium settings, would recommend getting more ram , it basically doubles your fps in many titles. Runs minecraft at 200-400 fps easily. Performance, low graphics in fortnite runs at 90fps 1% low - 150 high steady at 110-120fps and this is without upgrading the ram. Now with the ram upgrade i get 50-100 more fps in fortnite. Love this product would definitely recommend if you game and dont wanna spend 1000+ dollars better than the 3050 Laptop

My Legion Slim which I had for several years unexpectedly died during a bios update. I also used that laptop for my primary work device so I needed to buy something cheap and quick. The Victus was on sale at the time for $450 so i picked it up out of necessity more than anything else. Bought a 16gb ram stick for $45 so was $500 all in.
The Good: After using it for a few months I have been pleasantly surprised with the bang for your buck this device offers. I travel a decent amount and like to have something I can play games with after work and this device does an admirable job at that. For work, battery life is about 4ish hours for productivity which is generally enough more me and better than my legion. No problem driving two external monitors and more than enough power for productivity tasks. In terms of gaming has been perfectly fine for the games I like to play: frost punk, stellaris, hell divers (on lower settings). Since you will definitely be putting additional ram in this, the back panel is easily accessible and ram and storage can be accessed with little effort. Pretty light for a 16 inch gaming laptop and excellent cooling.
The Bad: The screen is not the greatest, has some bloom and could be brighter. 8gb is not enough ram, luckily ram is cheap and the install is easy. No thunderbolt is a bit of a hassle if you want to use this as a work machine. This most unforgivable sin is no usb C charging which should be standard at this point. It only takes HP chargers and is finicky about accepting 3rd party ones. Left my charger at home once during a conference and this became a major headache.
Overall: The value on this machine is incredible when its $450 or lower. It's not going to run everything on highest settings or have the most beautiful screen. but at that price you won't find a better budget gaming laptop, let alone a laptop generally. I could really see this being a great first laptop for a kid or a budget solution for a student who also wants to game some. If you only have $500 to spend you can't really do better.

This laptop is one of the best if not the only amazing budget laptop. I say this because this specific laptop goes on sale every once and a while and drops all the way down to $516 after tax. If you or someone in your family is a gamer or a number cruncher then this laptop is for you. It has a powerful gpu along with cpu and the battery life is super strong. With small battery optimazations this laptop lasts up to 5 hrs of browsing and regular typing work. Gaming on this thing is definitely a smooth feel. The graphics look stunning no matter what game youre playing and the power output for this laptop is nothing short of astonishing. Definitely worth the purchase only if you get it on sale!!

This laptop is amazing for lan parties or beginners who want to start their journey to pc gaming. Rams at 8gb which can run a good amount of games and storage is 512gb which rn i have 3 big games and 4 small ones, but its also easy to upgrade. Bought ram (corsair vengeance ddr5) from best buy and in 10 minutes i was sitting at 32gb. SSD will be next (Crucial P310 1TB Internal SSD Pcle). AMD processor and graphics card perform extremely well with running the games this laptop couldn't run before the ram upgrade too like rivals and borderlands 4. Then games like subnautica, league, minecraft, etc have ran cleaner then ive seen on any laptop ive owned. Only things are the battery life isnt great but as a gaming laptop its staying plugged in anyways, and I wish hp added one more usb port for a keyboard/wireless headset. Ive had it for almost a though year with no issues to report.

I’ve had this for a few weeks, I got it for my school needs as well as gaming, it runs amazing when it comes to my regular school needs, when it comes to games it also runs great but the bigger the game the faster the battery drains. I can watch 2 hour movies and still have good battery percentage but when running a higher graphic and item heavy games the battery will last me about 45 minutes before it asks me to plug it in. Is relatively quite but when the fans kick in the can be loud but it cools down quick so it’s a give and take. It’s definitely worth the money, especially if you are just getting into gaming computers

Good laptop when on sale for $500. Especially on tax free holiday weekend. The 4GB 6550M GPU runs games better than I expected. I am seeing 60+ FPS in Fortnite. 60+ FPS in D4 (100+ FPS w/ FSR2 enabled). However, 8GB of RAM is not enough. I had to add RAM. It comes with 1 x 8GB RAM stick. You can find another 8GB 4800mhz CL40 SO-DIMM stick online for about $20. You really want to run in dual channel anyways. Even though DDR5 is technically able to run dual channel on 1 stick. BestBuy only had 16GB sticks so I picked up two and am running at 32GB. May be overkill, LOL. You can find videos online on how to remove the back panel and upgrade ram. It is fairly easy. Remove 7 screws. I used an old credit card to carefully pry apart the seams as not to scratch it.
