Poor quality speakers

I just wanted something for basic sound, so my expectations were realistic given their price. However, I was still disappointed. The speakers actually sounded ok. except for the fact that there was a loud buzzing in the background. If you played with the wire where the speakers plug into the computer, you could get the buzzing to stop, but it would begin again as soon as you let go of the wire. Perhaps the pair I purchased was defective. I do not know. I did not want to take a chance on another pair. I returned my speakers to Best Buy and used an old pair my son had in the house that he was not using. They work great.
