Great Laptop with one Annoying Drawback
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is great, runs smooth, resolution looks amazing. Sadly the battery life is only around 4 hours so I find myself keeping the charger close by at all times. Still for $300, you can't go wrong. It can even handle recording at 1080p 30fps with an Elgato even though it has an I3 CPU.

Basic Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a Mac guy , I bought this to update the drivers for my Fantec VR Racing wheel that was not available for a Mac platform , I wanted an inexpensive laptop to just download driviers , The i3 processor is very slow , I am unfamilar with the Windows OS since XP so I cannot give a proper review . For my needs to upload and install drivers in seprate hardware . it served a purpose .. I am giving a non reccomendation since it is relatively slow out of the box . Go with a faster processor if you can afford it .

Buyer Beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK first let me say that I am not totally hating this computer, but I am definitely not falling in love with it. I purchased it as part of a bundle with a laptop sleeve, MS Office 365, Anti-Virus, and a USB memory stick (16gb). I bought the computer with the assumption I was getting a new machine - well it was new, but the actual model is already over a year old, which had I known I would have kept looking at other options. My biggest complaint is three-fold: First the computer comes pre-loaded with bloatware, plus with only 4gb RAM running Win. 10 just seems sluggish and bogged down, and this is only comes with a single band wifi wireless card AND no bluetooth which means I cannot even access my faster dual band 5ghz wifi channel at home that I am paying nearly $100 / monthly for or connect to any of my bluetooth devices (phone, speakers, etc..) After a month of frustration and unhappiness, I am finally able to take some time and work on upgrading some things including the RAM (to 16gb most likely, but at least 8gb) and the wifi card to a dual band card. This is almost $100 in upgrades that I really should not even have to do on a computer that is being sold in 2016, but hey lesson learned. Bottom line - HP is a great beginner computer, but upgrades are not easy, customer service is less than helpful, online support and reference material is dismal (I spent a considerable amount of hours today trying to determine just how to upgrade the wifi card which is like a 15 minute job, but HP has a history of not making their machines very compatible for upgrading components). Also the graphics are ok but not breaking any records, the sound is good, speakers are loud and clear. I do have to admit that Windows 10 is not very user friendly, especially after coming from a few years as a Mac user, so this is not helping my experience much either. Overall I would say that for the price you get a very, very average computer. I would look at other brands (acer, dell, asus) with similar price points because you may find a much better fit for your expectations and needs.

Dissappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop almost 7 months ago. After one month of purchasing, I heard shshsh sound coming when every time i play a sound track. I called the customer service. They spend 4 boring hours chatting and trying to solve the problem. Even with reset the laptop, the problem didn't solved. They request me to send the laptop pack by mail to repair it which will not be an option for me as I am taking online classes. It ended up with living with shshsh sound with each lecture I watched. 2 months ago, it is started to heat up and the fan is working all the time with load sound. Thanks hp for that bad experience. I will not buy any hp laptop again.
