This seemed like a great deal for a 17" at $100 off, but as it moves between 100% CPU usage and 100% hard drive usage (in task manager), while I am doing nothing else on the computer but surfing the Internet. It means that this computer is extremely slow. It also took over 2 hours to upgrade to the latest version of Windows right when I turned it on. Unfortunately, this will get returned. Spend the extra $100 to $200 to get a computer that will actually have a decent speed. This one is too slow, even to just surf the internet. On the plus side, I do like the textured surface of this laptop as something a little different and it is surprisingly light weight for its size.

I bought this for my wife. It is not the fastest one available, but it has been very reliable.

The price is hard to beat. The memory is just barely adequate (4 gb) though. Seemed to run well so far. Should be running faster when used for Linux OS as dual-boot.

I purchased this after returning a Macbook because I was not a fan of the Mac OS. It's a solid laptop that will let you browse the internet and stream Netlfix/Hulu. Can't really recommend it for anything more than that.

This was a Daily Deal about 2 weeks ago, and so far I have been very happy with it. I gave it 4 stars mainly because I don't think anything deserves 5 of them.

My now 12-year-old was happy with this laptop initially (it looks nice and the large screen is great), but he has barely used it over the past year because it's too slow! I assumed the issue was due to his gaming and the processor not being up to par for that. But even using Microsoft Office was a challenge recently and browsing the web was frustrating as well (and we usually have excellent internet connections in the house). It's surely not the worst, but I regret not doing a little more research before making this purchase.

Nice laptop for the money. Purchased for my 76 year old mother. I didn't want anything to difficult for her. So far, so good she hasn't messed it up. She uses it for email and online games. Only complaint I have is the power button. Sometimes it take a few times of pressing it to turn the computer on.

As a nurse and MSN student this computer is perfect for what I needed. It has plenty of memory and turns on and logs in quickly. My 9 year old Dell laptop took 10 mins to log me in. I was skeptical about HP because I’m a Dell fan but I am very satisfied with my purchase. It was a Deal-of-the-Day.

This laptop needs 8gig of ram bare minimum! 16 gig would make it fly. The problem is it can only be upgraded to a 16 gig which makes the 4gig stick of ddr4 useless because they dont make a 12 gig stick. You need two 8 gig sticks at around $100.00 a pop! So just buy one 8 gig stick if you want a little more speed. You will have to spend $40.00 to install it as the whole laptop needs to come apart to put it in. No easy access doors like on some laptops. 12 gig a ram will be much better tgan just the 4 gig which barely sparks a fire under the butt of this thing.

The specs are pretty good for a beginner laptop user. It has a big screen for families to enjoy movies. With this slim design it can easily fit inside your laptop bag/carrier. I bought this laptop for my sister to work from home.

The 17.3 screen size is large enough for videos and other projects work. The one T.B memory is ok for more storage.

Slower than my 4 year old computer. Froze up repeatedly.

Purchased for someone who just wanted a simple computer for browsing, watching videos, etc. No complaints so far.

I love this laptop so much because of the screen and it's slightly light for its size. I just wish it had a backlit keyboard.
