Absolutely love historical movies, especially war movies! This movie is amazing, and I love the focus on the personal perspective and the bond between brothers. Not only did this movie keep me at the edge of my seat, but it brought tears to my eyes. This movie is one that you will fall in love with over and over again.

The story is subtle and hoenstly predictable but with compelling character development and phenominal cinematography, the film conveys more emotion through lighting, angles, and that no cut (although you could argue there is one) shot than I thought my pea beain could gleam from movies. It makes you want to use words like film and be a movie snob. Its also a great show piece for one’s home theatre.

An extraordinary movie, based on real events and experiences. Filmed with only 3 camera cuts - live action and camera movement to bring the story to life wonderfully. Truly remarkable.

Great 4k disc! Awesome video quality on both the 4k and included 1080p blu ray disc. Audio quality is also great--it's atmos, which sounds incredible on a good HT setup. Also includes a digital code which I usually use to watch on my laptop while traveling.

Fantastic film filled with bravery, excitement, loss, love and camaraderie. Excellent cinematography and story with in depth realism of war during the period of WW1 10/10 and a must see!

This has become one of my favorite movies, in my top 5 for sure. I initially purchased the digital copy, but decided to add it to my 4K collection and it does not disappoint! The audio is fantastic. Clear picture quality with Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Excellent film with a very good 4k uhd presentation. Colors are varied and impressive, the trenches and mud are well contrasted with blue skies and fire. Really a stand out disc.

One of the best. My son rally appreciated the insight it game him into world war 1. Awesome sound too.

This is just one of the greatesr war movies in recent times. Made to look as if it was filmed in one take, with great cinematography and the best Atmos sound. You need to own this on 4k disc!

I like this movie so much, is one of my favorites war movies. The quality of a 4K blu ray has no comparison with a streaming movie. And the sound is amazing, the shootings and explosions.

Amazing movie. The one-shot illusion technique was really innovative. Good for anyone starting to watch WW1 movies or war movies in general.

The film was shot in a way that is different than most other films are I enjoyed the film its very different from what I was used to but still enjoyed it

Great movie. Gave me insight on what my Grandpa went through in WWI. He told us of first dogfight he saw. He also, lost one lung from mustard gas.

Stressful to watch due to the way it was filmed. I felt like i was there. The musical soundtrack added to the suspense. Visually realistic and surreal at the same time.

The 4k bluray format of this movie is the only way it should be viewed. Streamed or otherwise would only be a depriving you of the effort the director put into the film.

Incredible true story unbelievable couldn't imagine having to go through that during world war I suspenseful and shocking and surprising didn't see the ending coming the way it did

Excellent movie. it gives good insight into this often-forgotten war. Very good depiction of the roles and feelings of the solders.

1917 is a splendid production with cinematic elements that are marvelous. The breathtaking two-hour film passes quickly and is a treat for the viewer as attested by Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects. Wide angle shots of the vistas and superb cinematography, going from day to night, look great in 4K Ultra HD. The beautiful visuals set against earth toned colors, green pastures, and war-torn landscapes contrast nicely with a partly sunny sky. Close ups show fine detail and rich textures of the soldiers' uniforms, buildings, and trench structures. One of the best scenes is set in a war tor French village. The film's High Dynamic Range is perfectly demonstrated as the deep, rich, black of night is cast against the bright flashes of gunfire, flares and burning structures. The top notch sound track very nicely immerses the viewer with an engaging aural presentation via Dolby Atmos Surround Sound. Bonus material on a second disc contains several extras including Writer/Director Sam Mendes' personal connection to the film and Composer Thomas Newman's music of 1917.

Excellent movie about a war that there isn’t a lot of media about. As a history buff, was very pleased.
