This computer is small and fairly light, but it gets very hot and uncomfortable to hold or have in contact with your body, even through clothing. Ours also had a messed up mouse pad where one side (the left) had to be pushed extra hard to get it to "click" on anything.

    Mini Powerhouse (Open Box)

Just got delivered to my house today and here is what I have to say so far. Pros: 15.9 gigs of RAM (yo that's a lot of RAM) I7 seventh Gen processor Keyboard is very nice Battery life is pretty good! apparently the battery lasts 7 hours or so Backlit Keyboard (has three different settings for brightness) Speakers sound good! Very light in weight 476 Gigs of storage Is Windows Ink Capable (haven't tested this yet because this does not come with a pen) Asus is a very good brand Tablet mode is pretty sweet Display is very nice and it also gets very bright Haven't tested this yet but I am 100% positive you can play Skyrim on low settings with little to no mods. Not many unnecessary programs that were pre-installed Cons: Camera (the camera sucks to be honest) No HDMI or USB port (the laptop comes with a mini adaptor that includes an HDMI, USB and USB C port) that's the only reason I gave this four stars Overall this is a very nice, portable laptop. It can handle the everyday life of a student and can fill your school needs as well as your own, especially for drawing, watching movies, listening to music, or lightly gaming.

I've had this laptop only a little over a year and two months after I purchased it they had to replace the motherboard, then the wifi antennna when I got it back and then 10 months later which was last month they had to replace the hard drive. If it wasn't for the Geek Squad protection plan I would have spent just as much as it cost replacing parts. This laptop is good as long as it's in working but every time I have to send it off I have to download my software again because Best Buy won't without a fee of $99.

Just purchased a few days ago and have some first impressions. I chose this Q325UA over the Dell XPS and HP Spectre for reasons many others did: price for features. It had more RAM and SSD space than higher priced Spectre and XPS, while having a few bonus features mixed in. Pros: Fingerprint scanner. Took a few tries to set it up right, but once it works, it make logging in so much faster. Just turn on swipe up or hit the space bar, and touch the pad on the side. And Bam, you're in. It is so light. My previous laptop was a Toshiba Satellite Radius 2-in-1, and holding them in each hand and I can tell a big difference. It is also really thin, thinner than the Spectre I believe. Bright screen. Have not been in really bright areas yet, but so far it is bright enough. Fast. Those SSDs really are way faster. Setting up in the beginning and booting/rebooting was way quicker than other times I have set up computers. I was prepared for an hour or so of setup, but was surprised when the desktop came up. Said "Hello" on the screen and we're in business. Keys. Keys feel good for being so thin. Decent travel and click. I am not a speedtyper, but am satisfied with how it feels. They are also backlit, which is to be expected these days and at this price range, but my old one didn't have a backlight and that was less than useful. Cons: No stylus. The Spectre comes with a stylus, but this computer does not. I may get a stylus later, but having one right away would be nice. USB C. The ports are not Thunderbolt ports as mentioned by others, and charging is only possible through the left port, the right port being dedicated to data transfer only (USB). The left port can do everything, but I don't think it is full Thunderbolt powerful. Camera. Dang, I was amazed. I saw some negative things about the camera but was really surprised at the low quality of the camera. Not a huge deal for me since I hardly ever used the one on my other computer and have an external one, but still a con. Function keys. Can't find a way to change the state of the function key int the BIOS, probably because you wouldn't be able to use the arrow keys without holding the fn key. Heat. This baby can get hot when running heavy programs, installing programs, and updating Windows 10 itself (fan was on full blast for most of the update). But for just normal use it stays cool and quiet enough. But heat is to be expected at how thin it is. Things to get used to: Layout of keyboard. A bit different from others, which is understandable, but for me the enter key seems farther right than on my Toshiba. But the keys are quite a bit larger so that does make a difference. High DPI display. One of the first things noticed when installing programs was blurriness of some text inside the windows. After some research I found it was from the scaling of the programs and some compatibility issues. Wasn't a big deal since it was mostly the installers and not the actual programs, until I installed Fusion 360, a CAD program from Autodesk. Upon opening, the entire window was blurry and unusable. There is a workaround though for most programs. Find the *program_name*.exe file on you C: drive, go into the properties, and fiddle with the DPI settings. First try made it worse (half of the screen wasn't actually there) but another combination worked (hard to explain, but if you are in the settings, you will understand what I mean). Probably a Windows/screen problem more than a the computer itself, but still an issue. Hinge. The hinge itself kind of flips when you rotate it, lifting the back of the base up off of whatever surface it is on. I reminds me of the MacBook Pro hinge, sort of. It does have a pad on the bottom though to hold it in place and protect the screen and surface it rests on, but is just different. So would I recommend it? Yes. If you can/want to spend more, than maybe the Spectre or XPS would be fine, but this Asus delivers some great specs at a good price. I got this on sale and with Student Deals bringing the price to $999.99 (plus tax and protection plan of course). But I wanted the best deal for what I saw as good features. I hope to post more late if I can, after more use, but after using it for a couple of hours, I'm am satisfied in this laptop, especially since I have never had an Asus product before.

    Small footprint with fast performance

Pros: Light, fast, and responsive. I can switch seamlessly between tablet mode and normal mode. The Asus pen designed for it was cheaper. I downloaded and installed Windows Journal x64 to satisfy my fix to write longhand. There are four speakers that provide good fidelity considering the machine's dimensions. Sounds even better with headphones in the 10HZ - 20KHZ range. No complaints streaming Netflix. The screen provides vivid colors. The keyboard is responsive with large keys. Cons: The power button should be recessed. I accidentally push it sometimes when flipping in & out of tablet mode. Palm rejection is good in theory. The Windows 10 option to "disable the touch function when using the pen" is also good in theory. If you lay your hand on the screen before the pen is detected, touch is in effect. I have more use for the pen than touch so I found a way to control the "touch" function through a system tray utility. Summary: The Asus Q325 fits into my lifestyle. I'll be using it for a long time.

    Love This Small, Fast, Ultrabook!

I have been a Mac user since 2011. When my last macbook pro decided to bite the bullet after 6 years of everyday usage, I wanted to downsize to a smaller laptop. With the 13" macbook pro being unaffordable, and with my career changes involving needing to be utilizing a PC, I knew I wanted to look into 13" ultrabook pc laptops. I spent 2 hours in best buy looking at the Asus, a Samsung, an HP, and the lenovo yoga. After seeing the specs of all of those laptops, it just only made sense to go with the Asus Q325. The key board is easy to type on, although a bit noisy if you're a fast typer but it just involves an adjustment in the pressure that you apply to the keys. It is extremely light and portable (which is my biggest praise of this awesome ultrabook), and it is fast! Having the i7 and the 16gb of ram at this price point is basically unheard of with any other brand. I'm super happy with my purchase and I would recommend this laptop to anyone that was looking for a new pc laptop at this price point.

The laptop is very nice. I have had it for over 3 months. The first one only lasted a month before the power button broke but I was able to exchange it for a new one easily. The only other problems I've had are the fan is loud and I'm unhappy that the laptop only has 2 usbC ports. It did come with an adapter that's got HDMI and USB. This is a problem with mouses and I was forced to get a bluetooth mouse. Outside of these small problems, the laptop is very fast. It's light which nice for carrying it around everyday. The batterlife is long and It's great for the price.
