Too many problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice looking machine with good specs for the price. It's also very slim and easy to handle. Nice screen too. Unfortunately it has some issues. A few too many for the price. While I see many reviews praising the battery life on this model it just isn't true. With basic use such as browsing the internet, streaming a movie or music etc. with 40% screen brightness and the keyboard on the lowest setting your looking at 4-5 hrs. I also have to add that the battery indicator is particularly unreliable on this machine and I had to update the bios because windows wasn't measuring the charge level at all when plugged in. The keyboard feels nice but the keys are a bit uneven so the back light shines through the cracks in a choppy and cheap looking way. Also the f7 key does not illuminate as another reviewer mentioned. On a couple of occasions the machine did not charge when plugged in after the lid was closed. Pretty sure it's a bios issue or quirk with this machine and not a one off defect. Keep an eye on the led and make sure the machine knows you plugged in the cord before you walk away. In general a machine with these specs should run better and faster. It throttles like crazy sometimes especially when the battery is low. Not saying you shouldn't buy this but you should know what your getting into.

Highly disappointed...ASUS JUNK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon looking at the specs this computer offered and the lower price on sale due to the release of the i8 processors I picked this laptop for what I thought was an amazing price on a very fast and powerful machine. Boy was I wrong!! I owned this laptop exactly 12 days and used it about 5 times total in that time frame. On day 12 the computer was dead with no solution to the problem. Geek squad couldn’t fix it and couldn’t even figure out what was wrong with it. It would not charge or power on or respond to anything. Just completely dead!! I am highly disappointed in Asus products as this is now the 2nd laptop I have purchased from them that died on me. I will not recommend Asus to anyone. Do not buy Asus unless you want a constant technical headache. Thankfully the laptop was brand new and I paid for Geek Squad protection. My purchase price was refunded immediately with no questions asked.

Another great portable notebook from ASUS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a nice, portable, light notebook with the best bang for its bugs, don't hesitate but take this one. I've been looking and considering also competitors, but for other laptops with similar specs you pay often much more. The advantage of this one is, you can flip it 360 degrees, so for all situations the best. Laptop is blazing fast with it's 7th generation i7, 16 gb Ram and 512 GB of storage. Fingerprint sensor works very good too. So: highly recommended.

Had potential
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only way I knew Best Buy had this laptop was on the website. This laptop wasn't exactly getting a lot of attention and I can see why. I actually had to ask for it because the website said they had it in my local store but they did not have a display. I was ok with the $1199 price, which was basically on par with top tier 13 inch laptops of this genre, competing with the HP Spectra x360 and the Yoga line for convertible laptops. The specs and price made this attractive over the competition slightly. It offered double the memory HD space for about the same cost. Honestly I had this laptop for about 3 hours and returned it and am typing this review from an HP Spectra x360, which I'm very happy with. First, let me start with what is great about this laptop. It is SUPER LIGHT. It's lighter than my chromebook. It almost rivals the weight of my MacBook Air 11.6. It feels real comfortable and it is a nice dark color. The fan also never really gets that loud. I liked that they gave a dongle that lets you connect an HDMI and USB-A devices, since it went with just 2 USB-C ports, thunderbolt 3. The sound on this thing is amazing. Its even better than the HP Spectre x360. The bass is the best I've heard on a laptop that small. It's even smaller and lighter than the Spectre. So why did I return it? Everything else was wrong. The screen looked terrible. YouTube videos looked grainy or washed out. The camera was VGA quality. I haven't scene a camera this bad since my Samsung FLIPPHONE. The amazing sound can't make up for these downfalls. Also the internet was really slow on it, I don't know why. I returned it because I didn't feel I was getting the best bag for my buck. The Spectre happened to be on sale this week and is $1249. For 50 dollars more, I get a digital Pen and a case. It's bigger but it has a better camera and screen. If we invest this much money, we need to be happy with generally everything, and I was not. It might be good for someone who isn't as picky about the screen or camera and likes the sound and the size. It was a nice attempt Asus, but the competition is simply too strong here and the price point is too high.

There's nothing better for less than $500 more
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending weeks searching for laptops, this hands down had the best stats available for the price. Relatively similar laptops- Dell XPS 13'', HP Spectre, Mac pro (16gb) - are all far more expensive for the same amount if not less features. I can promise that this will be the best laptop any potential buyer can find. If apple sold this laptop, it would easily be priced over $1000 higher, and I challenge anybody to find a laptop that's better for the price.

Good Processor, not easy to use.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP I would give this 0 stars if I could this product is not an ASUS quality that I am used to, it was easily rushed to market and is not easy to use. Pros. Fast Processor runs graphics well Small and light Cons. Few air holes to prevent overheating Fan not located near the processor Overheats if you run anything more than a youtube video Only has 4 brightness levels Fan is loud Keyboard is not in the center of the laptop Doesn't connect to about any printers The PC has all the system files stored is whack procedurally generated locations so you cant find anything unless you set it all up yourself No clasp to open laptop so you must use two hands to open it No USB ports Only has 2 micro USB so you have to buy an adapter Contains one adapter that can only run one periphery at a time Only charges on the left port Increasing the volume requires you to press down on the volume Cant place a fan close to the processors since the EM field turns the screen off as a safty measure ON off button is near the volume and is the same shape and size Arrow keys are wrong shape so you cant game with it Proccessor runs at 10% speed once you get under 10% battery regardless of being pluged in Took forever to get the drivers working to connect to the internet when I got it (May be more software problem) AND LASTLY After two months the AUX port finally quit in the middle of a song for no reason at all so this is under warranty im getting something else now.

It's ok.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is ultra thin and light weight, which I love. BUT, the USB-C ports are taking some getting used to. I have dongles on both sides. Not attractive. Also, this thing gets HOT! Trend Micro seems to want to run all the time so I go into tools and shut it down. I've never had an Asus laptop (and I've had many) that run this hot and make so much noise. Also, I can't connect it to my present external monitor so I'm going to have to shell out more cash for one that is compatible. If I had to do it again, I would have purchased the HP Spectre. I'm disappointed.

Overall Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is simply amazing, yet another great item by Asus. It's very thin and light. simple to carry and lightweight, does heat up a little under the left side by the power supply but its not that bad.

Catch-22 Nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do not recommend this laptop for the technically challenged, which I seem to be. I've had the computer for two months and one big problem that keeps coming up is the finger print reader doesn't work and then it locks me out unless I have my PIN number. Well, this is my non-work computer. I only use it intermittently and every time I get locked out, I've forgotten my PIN and I'm stuck. And then what really drives me crazy is it sends me to a place where I can't even enter my PIN if I have it. Also, the sleep mode is a lock box. I put my computer down for ten minutes and when I come back, the screen is dark and I can't get it to turn on again. Oh and there is absolutely no manual for problem solving. There is a one page pictograph that stinks. That's it. So with the sleep mode lock box, I don't know what's going on. Is there absolutely no battery life even though the computer has been plugged in for hours before? Or is the mechanism for waking up the computer totally non-sensical. Shouldn't you just have to press enter or something? And then the worst yet, when I "restart" the computer, I am sent into a mode where it is telling me it is preparing windows and not to turn off the computer. I can neither turn on nor off my computer now. Ironically, I may have to wait 7 hours for the battery to drain to plug it in and pray for a fresh start, and all this started because the battery seemed to be out of juice or the sleep mode would not wake up. Conclusion: although I loved my computer when I first used it, these issues make me HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE this computer. DO NOT BUY IT!

Excellent Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for college, and it performs extremely well. I got this computer for programming and it has the power I need for college. You get 16 GB of ram, 512 GB SSD, and even a touch screen all for about $1,200. I had a student discount at the time of purchase so it was under $1,100. The laptop does have pretty good battery life for light use, but gaming on this computer will kill the battery. It's very light and portable, perfect for school. The keyboard and touchpad are both very responsive. The touchpad can be a little loud at times. The speakers are great on this computer. I used to have a MacBook Pro that costed around the same as this computer but with lower specifications. I'm more than happy that I got the Asus Q325.

Decent Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great computer and had everything I needed. Touchscreen, fast, good memory. Until a Windows UPDATE MADE IT NO LONGER REGISTER AS A TOUCH SCREEN AND BEST BUY NOR ASUS KNEW WHAT TO DO OR SUPPLY A DRIVER TO GET THAT CAPABILITY BACK. FOR THAT REASON I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE ASUS FROM BEST BUY AGAIN. IT'S A RIP OFF AND IT'S SAD THAT THEIR GEEKSQUAD NOR THE MANUFACTURER COULD SOLVE THIS AND SHOWS WHAT YOU TRULY CAN BE STUCK WITH SOMETIMES AND BE OFFERED NO RESOLVE OF YOUR PROBLEM.

Yet another poor laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money, this laptop should be much better, but this is par for the course with any laptop by ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and others. 1) Very cheap keyboard. Key presses are soft but there's little-to-no feedback. Not good for long-term typing. 2) The hinge covers weren't on straight... 3) There's about half an inch around the inner edge of the trackpad that doesn't respond to input. 4) The strip of rubber (?) at the bottom of the display (to lift the laptop up a little) gets dirty and is likely not going to last long. 5) Despite being a lighter finish than the Q324UA that this replaces, it's still good at catching fingerprints and smudges. 6) The physical click of the trackpad gets harder towards the upper half of the trackpad because it uses a cheap, outdated design by Synaptics where the actual button is at the bottom-middle, which makes no sense. Good specs for the price, but isn't worth it if you care about the small details.

System malfunctions waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was great when I bought it. But it has way too many system malfunctions to it. The internet won't connect, I cant reset it, and theres hundreds of other problems. Apparently best buy cant even run a diagnostics if you dont have your receipt. So I ended up calling asus customer service 5 or 6 times for them to finally send In my laptop. They didnt pay for shipping, and I'm still waiting for my laptop to get fixed. It really sucks because I spent 1000 dollars on an unreliable laptop just for it to break when I need it most for midterms. It was great while it lasted, but I may need to buy another laptop because I heard asus customer service is terrible

Replacement charger NOT sold in stores
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this at Best Buy just a couple months ago. The power goes through the USB-C connection and THAT particular cord cannot be found in stores NOT EVEN BEST BUY. So when your dog chews through your power cord...you will be offline for awhile. Hope you don't need it for anything important (like making a living). I will be cancelling my Best Buy credit card and will find another vendor for $1,000 paperweights.
