Electronic products do not always maintain a high level of reliability. Once great products slip in quality. This plan takes the worry out of a purchase. Unless you can repair something yourself the replacement policy is the best way to go.

Bought the two year warranty and used it about 18 months, showed them the receipt and got a new one.

For the $20 electric can opening you may not need a protection plan, however you can never go wrong getting a protection plan from Geek Squad for larger ticket items. Whenever I purchase large ticket items from BestBuy I always get the protection plan. While electronics do last a while sometimes they don't and that is when the plan is great for you and your pocket book. It will give you a little piece of mind
