    I purchased a 4 yr. Service warrantee in hopes of not having to use it. Better safe than sorry.

    Power surges if the unit is repaired twice for the same issue they replace it you can't beat that

    Definitely buy the protection, there is a lot that can go wrong in AV receivers.

    Bought this warranty for a $600 denon receiver. Less than 2 months later receiver stopped working. Brought it back to best buy, where tech was very nice but explained a few KEY POINTS: 1) it will likely take 2-3 weeks after being shipped to Geek Squad warehouse center to diagnose and recommend a decision. 2) if it is NOT Fixable, the GS tech said I would get a refund as a store credit for the amount i paid, not a replacement of the same or equivalent unit. Since my receiver was on sale for -400 off, a refund would put me in the negatives. The Accidental Protection clearly states "replacement" with same or equivalent. I cant get an equivalent with a store credit
