Purchased as "open-box". The gimbal would not calibrate, ever...so the product was returned.

Please be careful, this is a waist of money. It feels and looks solid but after short use, it begins to squeak, and rattle, and it get caught up when rotating. The Auxiliary power supply to the GoPro go yanked out the 3rd time I used it. Now I'm stuck with a $200+ Paper Weight!

Got this on discount and took the open box option. it came with missing cables, once I fully charged and powered it on, it started spinning and rolling without being able to stabilize. had to take it back

I tried this gimbal because their pricing was not ridiculous ($200 on sale). to be honest, the 1st one I got came DOA but it was fairly easy to exchange at bestbuy. Now the 2nd device worked as advertised. it was really stable, easy to use and build quality seems good. only time will tell if it is durable enough though. oh, and another thing, I tried emailing skylab for help with the 1st DOA device and I gotta tell you, their customer service is awesome! quick helpful replies and courteous. so with that in mind, there is really no reason not to give them a try -- especially when you've never tried a gimbal before. So, if you're like me who does not feel comfortable buying a gimbal online and not having it easily returned/exchanged or not knowing if customer service would even respond to your concerns, this is the one you should buy.

i don't have high expectations, but this totally didn't work at, all, couldn't move it with out it wigging out, even after i calibrated it

I bought an open box one for a very good price and I never have issues with open box items but this was was defective or something it didn't do anything not even after charging.

The sales rep told me it'd fit but it doesn't and I had to return it.

Bought this for use with my GoPro Hero 4 Silver. Works perfectly! I took it out to a local park where I walked it along some paths besides a lake, over bridges and got some ground level shots of a flock of ducks running then taking off. It's really easy to use and works as advertised. It also has threading at the bottom to fit a standard tripod screw mount. That way I was able to attach it to a telescoping pole and get some crane like shots. Holding it low to the ground then raising it up on the pole made it look like drone launch footage. Excellent product that seems solid and well made. Price is comparable to similar devices from other manufacturers.

I purchased an open box Skylab gimbal. When I got home I noticed I was missing the paperwork and possibly a battery as well (or I scored an extra one). The Best Buy red sticker said two sets of batteries were verifed and included in the Box. But I had 3 batteries. Who knows how a part-time employee interpets "2 sets". When I emailed Skylab to ask them if I'm missing a battery or if a scored a spare battery they replied on within 4 hours on a Saturday and asked for my home address. Today they emailed me that the battery has shipped! I'm sure that gimbal is going to work awesome. I've been playing around with it but haven't done any of the type of filming I'll be using it for. Regardless, when a company is this proactive with their customer service you can trust that it is because they have a superior product they can stand behind. I am very pleased. And I'm not the type of person to write reviews- this will be my second in my life. I wasn't expecting skylab to give me a battery. I was only asking to see what the confusion was because my original email was actually regarding the wire that connects to the GoPro to the Skylab.

I've been using the Stabilizing Gimbal for about a week now and it's terrific! I've been using to shoot footage at the shooting range, speed boat, and at while biking! The quality of footage I've been getting is unreal. My hero 4 along with the stabilizing Gimbal is a stellar duo! I can't wait to get the phone version next.

I've purchased the Skylab from bestbuy.com and the setup was extremely easy. The product has a solid build quailty to it. It has been nothing short of spectacular. Without it I can promise your video will be shaky, given the standard GoPro image quality. GoPro as a result has come up with a similar product due the constant complaints of shaky camera footage. This product is cheaper and in my opinion is better. I would highly recommend this product whether you are a beginner or expert filmmaker.

I was so frustrated with the poor quality (shakiness) of my Go Pro Videos. After using this gimbal, I'm excited again to keep filming. The results are truly professional. So wish I had this for our wedding. Hopefully someday they will make an underwater version!!!! Incredible product - high quality, very solid feel. Battery lasts longer than expected, and you get two sets.

smooth footage, easy to use, but wished it came with a case.

I have been very impressed with this SkyLab stabilizer. I purchased this because I had a lot of footage that I was very dissatisfied with because it was too shaky. I am now capturing very smooth, professional footage. The stabilizer has a solid build and is comfortable to hold for extended amounts of time. Battery life has also been great.

This gimbal does a wonderful job at smoothing out the bumps and jitters in handheld footage. I have walked up steep, root clogged trails and was astounded at how level and stable the video looked. I also slid down a massive slide (with wax paper) and was pleased with the result, although my rear end still hurts. Build quality seems good and I like how the camera can be charging from the gimbal's power. I do wish there was a way to mount the GoPro while in its waterproof housing, but I guess that's not the purpose of this product. Would highly recommend,.

I have been using this gimbal for some time now and it has really elevated my video quality. The modes work very well and before you know it you will be switching modes and recording with the best of them since it is so intuitive. My organization recently moved to a new location and when someone cleaned my office and missed placed the battery charger for my gimbal I contacted Skylab and within 24 hours they were contacting me back to help. I will continue to use and recommend their products.

I bought this item open box and it was missing a charger(risk of openbox) while using it, I noted that the pitch axis of the joystick was not functioning. I emailed the company and they are sending out a replacement gimble. The customer service with this device is amazing.

Upon open the box for my new Skylab GoPro gimbal I was impressed. The presentation was great. The build quality was great, the unit felt very stable and solid. I charged the batteries and waited to be further impressed. The anticipation was building. Loaded the batteries, installed my GoPro and turned the gimbal on. The gimbal tried to orientate itself but it went wild rotating and twisting in all directions back and forth. It would only stop when I pressed and held the joystick. I tried both calibration techniques without success. I updated the firmware and re-zeroed the "attitude calibration." No luck. I emailed Skylab a few days ago, they haven't replied yet. They also do not have a phone # to contact them. I will return it. I did buy the Osmo (availability) since I needed a camera for an upcoming trip. Based on other peoples reviews I would recommend this product. I hope this one was the only one with this issue.

Super great device for anything. It is easy to use and upgrading the firmware fixes any issues that you may notice. I have had no complaints about this device!! Can't wait to see more of what SkyLab comes out with.

I only gave this a 3 due to the extended time it takes to recharge your unit. It takes about 6 to 8 hours to fully charge the unit through the USB port while hooked up to your LapTop. I did order an ANKER charger (Quick Charge 3.0, Anker 18W USB Wall Charger (Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible) PowerPort+ 1 for Galaxy S7/S6/Edge/Plus, Note 5/4, LG G4, HTC One A9/M9, Nexus 6, iPhone, iPad and More) should take no longer than 2 hrs. But if your out in the field, this is a long time. They Unit itself is pretty amazing.
