Smooth footage, 2 batteries didn't work.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as a gift for my birthday. I charged all 4 batteries and only 2 of them worked. I tried to email Skylab directly to see if they could send me new ones without having to get a whole new gimbal, but they haven't replied and it's almost been a week. The gimbal itself is great with my GoPro 4 but I am disappointed it doesn't fit the GoPro 5. I hope they come out with longer screws to fit soon. I will be taking back the gimbal tomorrow and swap it out for a whole other one just because 2 batteries didn't work.

Does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this today 09/20/2016 in the Fort Lauderdale Store. I was impressed with the packing of the gimbal but, that is about it. I charged the batteries, connected my GoPro, installed the batteries. Powered up and the first thing I heard from the gimbal was a very high pitched sound. The GoPro would go up and down in the gimbal but that is about it. The gimbal would not pan left or right and when it did, you could hear and feel the gears grinding inside the gimbal. Selected the other modes and the modes would not work at all. I pointed the gimbal straight in front of me and then I could pan left and right but then the gimbal would go limp and stopped working. I figured that the system needed a firmware update so, I flashed the gimbal and that did not work at all. I will be returning this item tomorrow. Save your money and get the DJI Osmo or the Osmo Plus. Costs a little more but, it is well worth it.

My second one with issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After reading the reviews I decided on the Skylab gimbal for my GoPro. When I went to Best Buy they had an open box available and so I went with that one due to it being much cheaper. I had watched youtube on this item and was very careful to fully charge the batteries and install the GoPro prior to turning on. I also updated the firm ware and calibrated the gimbal. The gimbal had an issue though when I would rotate it around you would feel a catch and notice it as well. It certainly was not correct and so I attributed it to a returned item that someone else probably turned on without the GoPro. I exchanged it for a new one and updated and calibrated as before. It was working fine and I was pleased as my granddaughter was visiting and I wanted to film our time at Disney. I used it a couple times at Disney and then it started to shake and I could not get it to stop. I tried everything and to no avail. Was very disappointed as I was not able to film Disney with my granddaughter. After returning home It stopped shaking and worked fine except now it has the same catch as the open box one and you can feel it when you rotate forward. I can't trust the item to take on a trip and film as it doesn't seem to dependable. Since the company only has email and no phone to call regarding this issue I shall return it as I'm not spending time going back and forth over email!!! Time to buy and EVO..

Return this product 2 times still no luck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this gimbal on Friday charged the batteries, read the instructions, turn the gimbal on and it work great but the joystick would only go to the right. It would not turn to the left. Returned back to the store on Monday. I did an exchange with them hoping to get one that worked. Took it home that night charged the batteries installed them turn it on and another dead joystick!!! This one does not work right or left. Now I have to return again to Best Buy and this time I'm getting my money back and moving on. I really was hoping it would work but it doesn't. I don't think this product is worth the money or time. If you buy the gimbal be sure to open it and try it before you leave.

Pushy Sale

Over-priced and pushy sale, with complications of even trying to return. Got this item from someone and ask them to return immediately since I knew it wouldn't be compatible - tried returning without even opening the box - Best Buy saying this product came in a bundle, while in fact there is no such bundle for this product that is affiliated with GoPro - it was simply on sale. Why would Best Buy management even offer this for a purchase of the GoPro HERO5 Black when the mode setting would be blocked from this design? How is this even a "bundle"??? Terrible service and terrible design for someone who purchased a GoPro HERO5 Black along-side this item.
