I had bought another model and it broke easily. Definitely this is a better one and very practical to take as you can fold it.

This was purchased prior to a vacation that I knew I would be doing some snorkeling. Surpassed my expectations. The unit is surprisingly stable, yet easy to adjust, even while in the water. It provided the perfect amount of extension to explore area where I could not fit. Also, it provided a means to get closer to less human-curious sea life. The tripod was also used for time-lapse photography. In this case, shorter lengths proved more useful. The unit is tall compared to its tripod base, and therefore tends to wobble in the breeze when fully extended. Lets face it, it could also be named the "GoPro Selfie Enabler", but I vow not to explore this usage case.
