I bought this to use with my home workstation and it doesn't really work (or fit) with my hundred year old Arts & Crafts desk — but I was looking for a high quality surge protector for my countertop kitchen appliances and it's perfect there. Looks great and will protect my high end appliances. The only thing that I'd want to change about this device is that I'd like to see high speed USB-C ports on it.

The SPA 360 Brand Surge Protector works well as a power strip with multi-functionality and surge protection. However, this review is only going to give 4 stars because I cannot positively say that it works in its most important capacity: as a power surge protector. Having not experienced such a surge, I can only say that the strip indicates it is in protection mode and that it is working as expected. That said, there are a number of things to like about this unit. *Four full outlets which rotate. You can plug in multiple important devices in this strip. I am currently using it for laptops, monitors, and a shredder. I like having the extra feeling of security that this protector provides and being able to use it for my key electronics. *Four USB A connections. These have provided rapid charge when they are being used. I have another regular power strip with USB functionality, but it does not provide this rapid charge capability. It has a 24 watt charging capability for USB, which it will also distribute over the connections. So, multi devices should get the appropriate wattage for charging with the “charge sense” capability that this protector has. Supposedly it can sense your device’s needs and send wattage accordingly across the USB connectors, which is good if you are charging a variety of devices with different kinds of cords or connections. It provides very rapid charge for my phone and my watch, even if both devices are plugged in at the same time. * A 5ft tough, woven cord that plugs into the wall. This allows me to have the protector under my desk, which is ideal for my setup. Other protectors go directly into the wall. That’s a good setup for a tv or media center, but for my office needs, I have to access the protector as I often need to pick up a laptop and cord and take it elsewhere. It’s much more convenient to have the cord for this purpose and not have to crawl around under my desk to reach the wall plug. *1080 joules of protection against surges. This is probably the lowest level one would want, but it should be enough protection in a pinch. Truly, 2000 joules would be better for any really high priced electronics, but this is a good step and certainly adequate for any smaller devices. I may be toeing the line using it for my computer--but you can decide for yourself what level of protection to buy. There are two lights on the unit, one indicated the unit is grounded and one that protection is on. So, it should be clear if the unit ever ands up absorbing a surge and is no longer able to offer protection. This is a standard feature in a surge protector, but it’s always nice to know that it is working. A couple things to note: The outlets rotate, but I’m not sure how useful this really is. It can help with cord control, but it’s not a hugely helpful feature. It’s better to have it than not. I could not get one of my USB A style devices to charge with this unit. My Bluetooth earbud charging case has a flat USB A connection and it does not work with this unit. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t. Every other USB A charging connection I’ve used with this charging case works. I don’t know why this one doesn’t. As this is not a very common type of USB A connection, and unlikely the main unit anyone would use with this surge protector, it’s not a deal breaker by any means, but it is something I noted. Overall, this is a reasonably priced unit with good build quality that affords some peace of mind. We have frequent electrical storms and I feel a little better protecting my equipment. Hopefully this will be up to the task if we ever get a surge.

It's really pretty good but maybe a bit pricey now. If they put it on sale it could get more stars. I've had a lot of power strips/surge protectors/ac filters over the years, some much more expensive and several somewhat less expensive so I guess it's kind of in the middle area. None of my others had usb ports on them though so I guess that's a plus. It is pretty convenient to have 4 usb ports and not have to use adapters for them. I just wish they would have included a couple more regular ac outlets since it only has four of them as well so it seems somewhat like a compromise rather than a bonus. The rotating outlets are a nice feature since they allow you to position your other adapters for convenience but still not a lot of space between them so your bulky adapters may or may not fit like you would expect them to. You could put one on the end but it may cover a couple of the usb adapters which are actually on the end of the strip. They should have put the usb adapters on the side or somewhere that they wouldn't get blocked. Kind of flashy looking so if you want a stylish power strip you might like it. I personally prefer function over looks when it comes to power strips especially since they always have a bunch of wires sticking out of them. I think I prefer a rack mount style with the outlets on the back so the cables don't show so much. Well I think I may have talked myself out of liking this much. It does supposedly have power filtration which is helpful for some uses like audio and maybe video but if you're using it for that I would get something better. Also claims a $10,000 equipment warranty but good luck collecting on that. "Limited" lifetime warranty as well but if they're not around in a few years what then? If you can get it cheap on sale it may be a good deal. At full price though there are better options out there.

    Nicely Designed Surge Protector

I am using this surge protector to power most of the devices in my home work station. It is set up on my desk behind two 27 inch monitors, so that the surge protector and plugs are out of sight. The four outlets are nicely spaced and rotate to allow over sized or awkwardly shaped power adapters to be connected. This is an ingenious design and I wish more surge protectors would be designed like this. This surge protector is perfect for desktop use because of the four available plugs and the four USB outlets. Having the USB outlets on the table allows them to be used with standard length USB cords. Another benefit of a desktop surge protector for me is that with my desk being on the long side, I can plug my printer to this surge protector because the printer power cable is not long enough to reach a power outlet. The power cord is about four feet in length. It is well contracted, and uses a heavy gauge, braided design. The plug orientation is side attachment so the cord does not protrude from your power outlet. The USB ports are rated at 24W of total output. Two screw hole mounts are on the back.
