This could be a great drone, but it doesn't work with the Hero 3+ Silver and unless I want to spend another 3-400 on another camera this unit is useless. The design is great and it is a solid machine with real potential, but I'm surprised they didn't think about previous GoPro owners.

When the gimbal arrives this will defiantly be the quad to have in your aerial photography arsenal.

pretty good drone. Only complaints are battery life and sometimes there is disconnection mid-flight from the drone and the phone. This may have to do with other network interference I believe. If you were able to get the bundle for $300, I believe you got a great deal!

This drone is great, easy to learn on and wont break after flying into an obstacle (props might, but it comes with replacements so its fine). the only downside is the short range and long times (3 or 4 minutes) to get satellites. I would definitely recommend this drone

My first few flights had a problem. Around two minutes into the flight, I would get the notification that communications was lost and the SOLO would RTH and make a safe landing. I read reports of other people having this problem but I did find the cause of mine. On those flights I was using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with the controller. When I flew the SOLO without a mobile device, I did not have any problems. Next, I tried a few other mobile devices with the controller (LG G3 phone, Dell Venue 7 and Nexus 7) and there were no problems. When I used the Galaxy Note again the problem came back. There is something about the WiFi in my Galaxy Note that causes this problem. I now just use the Dell Venue 7 with the SOLO and have over 35 hour of excellent flight time on it. I own several other quad and the SOLO handles high winds better than any of them. I recommend downloading and reading the SOLO User Manual before your first flight. Don’t expect 20 minute fights. I get 15 minutes on a calm day and land with about 20% charge remaining.

This is such a great drone for the price. So user friendly for all levels.

So easy to use with self take off and return home helping a lot. Be careful if manually landing, a small gush of wind can cause havoc. Only complaint would be the props, are great for what they do but if they barely hit anything while running they get destroyed

We love playing and practicing with this drone. If you have an iPhone and GoPro camera already, this is the perfect drone to shoot video on.

For $400, the 3DR SOLO bundle includes gimbal, battery, propeller, and backpack. If you already have a GoPro this is a good deal. If you do not have a GoPro go with DJI. 3DR is going away from consumer business. Support for the SOLO will most likely diminish.

I have had my eye on the 3DR Solo for a long time. I own a number of UAV's and have always built them previous to this purchase. The Sold is very easy to operate as well as to set up. It is certainly not "sporty" but works well for aerial imagery. Nice and compact as well . Highly recommend.

We were a bit concerned about this purchase but we've had no issues so far. My 14 year old set it up and took it out on it's first flight. Sence then nothing but fun. The return to hime feature is great and is used almost every flight. Flight time is excellent and the ease of use is off the chart. We've had nothing but fun so far. Very happy with our purchase.

The product was very straight forward and customer service is 24 hours.

Flies Steady and takes wonderful pictures with the go-pro camera

Good value drone for someone who already has a GoPro. Other than loosing gps signal or having to wait until it gets signal for a few minutes it works well even as a beginner drone pilot.

I read a lot of negative reviews of this drone, but it was on sale and came with an extra battery and the 3-axis gimbal, so I threw caution to the wind and picked one up. The first gimbal I got was off and pointed to the right, but I exchanged that one and the new one worked fine. I've flown it a few times, and so far everything has worked great. The GPS is not super sensitive, and had trouble getting a fix under a completed clouded over sky, but had no problem getting 14 satellites under a partially cloudy sky. It also works with the Tower Android app, as well as other flight management software under Windows and Mac, so check that out as well. I haven't been brave enough yet to set a flight plan under Tower and leave it to its own devices, but the fact that you can do that is a huge plus. There are also lots of hacks and upgrades out there, such as upgrading the GPS and WiFi (through a directional antenna or actually replacing the WiFi cards in the controller and aircraft). Extra batteries and props are also widely available. Batteries are about half the price of DJI batteries, although you get less flight time with the Solo. So, for the price, this is a great drone.
