This product is absolutely trash. I received my drone Monday after thanksgiving. I was super excited, I took it out the box and thing went perfect. It found the GPS and flew for 11 mins. I landed the drone manually as I'm a new "pilot". Placed the battery to charge and went on about my day. A few days later, up and ready to fly....no GPS. Unable to even locate the drone. Finally I got a singal and began flying. All of a sudden no signal and immediately I saw it coming towards me, nope it swooped right, right into my neighbors house. I went to get it replaced - which they did. I came home with #2...battery wouldn't charge even if was a raging bull. I went to the store, yet once again. They replaced it...on to Drone three (3)...came home battery charged and ready to fly...it's 5 hours later and no GPS. Best Buy I'm done with this junk.

The solo is a very fragile drone. Anything hits a prop, motor burns out and good luck ordering replacement. Video feed works maybe 5% of the time, if at all. Not a single instruction comes with drone explaining how to set up or test video feed. Takes a long time to acquire GPS signal, 10 minutes +, and then loses it constantly. Dont be fooled by the hype.

This is a ready to fly drone that will not disappoint! Follow the guide and you will be capturing awesome aerial footage in no time!

Wow, I was excited to get this for my birthday. I spent about 2hrs of time setting it up. Gltchy app. the footage is upside down. I got her up and she flew great. However and its a big one. The Go Pro Hero 3+ is NOT compatable! After my wife asked if it was. So the thing is easy to fly fast and real nice. If you have the right Camera and a ton of patience....

Do NOT buy this piece of junk, mine developed a glitch in the computer and flew off into a lake. After a long discussion with the company as you would expect they blamed pilot error despite hitting their safety button. No replacement was offered only a 40% discount. If you go to Google and search the top drones for 2015, this thing is not even mentioned. Look at the Phantom.

Poor Range, 600' max. Poor Support. Save your money... I have called 3dr only to get messages saying send an email... and only return emails saying we will get to you eventually... I ordered May 17, 2015 and it is three months later and no gimbal... Save your money...

WORST DRONE EVER. DO NOT BUY! TRUST ME. So i saw the deal that the drone was on sale for $300 so i decided to buy one. I did everything needed for setup and watched all the 3DR beginner videos. When i first started flying it, it would lose GPS signal right away and started flying by itself manually. Then it would crash somewhere unexpected and i got scared i was gonna lose the drone, so i started driving around with the controller on so that when i get close by, it would have signal again, and it did and i had found it. This had happened to me twice already. i thought that it was probably just me not knowing how to fly it. But when i tried flying for the third time, it did the same exact thing and this time, it crash in a shopping center parking lot, so as i was headed there, it was nowhere to be found. A nearby employee told me he had saw it crashed and there was a group of people surrounding it, so i am guessing they had stolen the drone, now i have a lost 3DR drone which i never actually got to fly because it was always flying on its own and crashing and a broken GoPro that i had found on the floor, GREAT, now $700 has gone down the drain because of this drone. I do not know if theres anything they can do to help me, but i had contacted 3DR and waiting on their reply. Why are they even selling it if it does not work? I am pretty sure it's not me thats the problem because it just flies on its own right after taking off so it's the drone...

The drone worked good it is only combatible with a few go pros so beware of that

3DR is changing it's business model and Best Buy is selling off all of thier 3DR products. This is the flagship drone from 3DR and is listed for $1000 on thier Web site. Buy this drone before it's too late. You won't get a better deal or drone anywhere.

Flying is fine. However, there is a problem with gimbal. My GoPro can be attached to the gimbal to send the view to the iPhone. But, the control cannot detect the gimbal, which makes the gimbal useless since I cannot control the gimbal. I also try the other gimbal but with no luck. I contacted 3DR customer service. They said that is the problem on solo. They might replace it. For drone, I would recommend a complete set as I have a Autel X-Star Premium. It makes me easily to set up without issue.

Read Tony's review posted April 21. Dead on. I have the Solo and the DJI Phantom 4. The Solo has a mind of its own and unfortunately all indicators are the 3DR is in trouble. Customer service has definitely declined, the company has downsized over the last year and every time there is an update to the solo software there are weeks or months of software bugs that seem to linger. The concept 3DR used to sell Solo initially sold me but allot of that apparently was just hype. At this point, I can honestly say that I would not buy a Solo again. Just too many issues. And yes I have tried to sell mine but tony was being nice- used Solos are going for 4-500 max. I have over 1800 in mine with accessories and extra batteries. Best offer I've had is 800.

Today I flew the fourth drone that I returned and I'm going to return it again for number five just purchased it this morning did all calibrations and she would not get a signal other drawings I purchased up on signal no problem where I live if you call 3-D a.Robotoics they will tell you to go flying in the middle of nowhere while I rather go fly kite

I am giving this 3 stars because I purchased this thinking it would come with the 3 axis gimbal. The pictures and reviews made it seem like it would come with the 3 axis gimbal. I can't say how the Drone functions because I didn't fly it because I didn't want to pay a restocking fee.

Waited for this device for months - it is a "@&$$ was never able to get it to connect with the GPS which means you can not fly it. Called 3DR for support after holding for 65 minutes I raised the white flag and returning it tomorrow. Get ready Best Buy for the future returns because I am not the first...

does everything you could ever want and more. the 3dr user community is also amazing.

It cashed about four flights the radio controller said lost GPS . It come crashing to the ground like a brick .I called Best Buy they said they could not help me. So I went to 3DR every time I did what they said they came up with another thing for me to do. Save your money and buy DJi phantom 3 .I flaunted 200 times and it has not cash.

3DR customer service is the WORST. Don't buy this.

I have been flying the 3DR, among other comparable drones, for 3 months now. At first, it seemed quite good and very easy to use, but recently, a large number of issues has come to light. The auto flight functions are faulty. My drone , like so many following the update last month, crashed on auto flight and did not allow manual override. 3DRs response was replacement of customers new drones with used and refurbished units. Even those which were virtually new. Consider a different brand.

Had 3 and all were doa. Never got one off the ground. Save up and buy one that doesn't require you to do all the work, this is nothing more than a polished kit drone that requires advanced users to find enthusiasts who have collaborated and fixed the problems 3dr left this drone in when it turned its back on the business and went to software development.
