Lack of accessories and parts locally is a bit worrisome as 3DR is no longer in the commercial sales. The drone is great despite that and 3DR did assure me they've will be supporting all sold drones for the foreseeable future. Great video, great flying and built like a tank.

This is my first drone and I have to say it was very easy to learn how to fly it, which is one of the reasons I picked this one. The only thing I would change is the battery life. It only flies for about 25 mins per charge. It's not bad, I plan on buying an extra battery.

The build quality is excellent as are the features. For the price very stable flight, great camera control and fantastic remote. When the unit goes out of range it goes into return home mode. Battery life good be better but again this drone is basically a flying computer so it uses lots of battery power to adjust flight, stability etc. Go Pro works great with the gimble

To be honest I love this drone.the setup and ease of use is phenomenal! The smart shots are features that some newer drones still don't have. It's speed is pretty fast I had it up to 33mph which is pretty fast. Everything you need to know about the drone is right there, it's not cluttered and overfilled with info like DJI etc. Only issue I had was with the orbit mode it's hard to dial into a small circle at low alt I think this is something that is ment to be done from a bit away not a 12ft radius 8ft off the ground . actual flight time I got was 14 mins with gimbal and gp4

Easy to fly right out of the box. Stable steady flight for beginners. Only 2 draw backs are the battery life, purchasing at least one extra battery is a must, and lack of object avoidance like other comparibly priced drones.

Wow! First of all thank you Best Buy for such fast turnaround on the express ordering. I ordered my Solo on 6-23 and picked it up on the 24th. They were out of batteries and had no idea how to give me a voucher for one. I emailed 3DR to see what they could do. Straight home to unpack and put on the chargers. Initial setup and update went fine. Did get in a quick test flight after the weather broke this evening. Flew great! RTH worked flawlessly. Great Quad can't wait to start shoot video and get my Gimbal.

Still awaiting the camera gimbal, Great technology, easy to use. It will be awesome when coupled with the gimbal.

I bought 10 of these for my company. The range on this is VERY poor, about 200-1000ft depending on location. My DJI Phantom easily gets 2,000-10,000 in the same spots. I get about 17min of battery life with the Solo and no gimbal which means when the gimbal comes out I will likely only see 14-15min of battery life while the DJI Phantoms get around 22min+ with gimbal. I think it was released too soon and without a gimbal its useless. Take my advise, wait 6 months for them to work out the bugs.

Exceeded all my expectations. Drone is so easy to setup and fly, yet it still allows you to put it into manual fly mode to take complete control. Works well with GoPro cameras and also with iOS or Android tablets/phones

This is the most amazing "quad copter" on the market. I've been flying for some time now and when I put this in the air, it was the easiest and most fun experience I've had.

I also own the Parrot Bebop drone, but find this one so much more stable and responsive. Everything works just like it is supposed to. A real pleasure to fly when you don't have to constantly worry about crashing.

This drone is a blast to fly and it takes sensational video. One of the most stable drones I have ever flown. The controllability of this craft is second to now. It has multiple adjustments from altitude to flight speed. It does take a minute or two to acquire the required satellites to fly it, but having gps enabled flight allows you the ability to summon this drone to come back home on its own with just a push of a button. I truly love the fact that I change my GoPro features and see why my camera is filming all on my connected smart phone or tablet. I have yet to really push the limits of this craft, but I can safely say that you can easily fly it a half mile away and back in strong winds without a worry. It's a treat to fly and I will recommend it, especially at the price it's being offered. Tons of features and a treat to fly.

I am very pleased with this purchase. Wish it flew a little farther without needing a range extender but it flies fast and is user friendly

I purchased this drone about 5 weeks ago and it seems to be a well built unit so far. I don't fly it everyday but so far it's been reliable. My complaint is with the customer service, It's horrible!!! You can't talk to them on the phone because the customer service people are always busy "on another line" and when you use their online help form they don't reply for sometimes over a week. It took me over a month to finally get someone to call me. ...... and the fact that they keep promising to have the gimbal available but it's not furthermore nobody can say when it will be available. If your looking for a company that has good customer service, better look elsewhere.

I am glad I bought the 3DR. This drone, gimbal, and Hero 4 work great together. The performance and features they currently offer and have planned in the future are going to be amazing.

It was cool until i crashed!!! $1100 isnt fun to watch break up! GPS signal would not always connect and had to fly manual mode. It got out of control and lost it into a tree! probably only good for experts! And there is no gimbal available yet!!that prevents you from getting the really cool shots and using follow mode and another couple of modes to the full expected and advertised abilities. Its supposed to come out sometime in august.

High quality materials. It was easy to assemble. Instructions were easy to follow. Simple to fly and operate.

I have read many reviews for this product, and for the price point, I couldn't resist the temptation to buy it. I got the package deal (gimbal, extra battery, propellers). I'm very new to the RC and drones so my review is based on my experience level, which is very novice. The package was delivered fast. Here's my suggestions for getting ready to fly this drone. Download the free flight simulator (android, or IPhone). I absolutely love this program! It thought me how to fly the drone and practice different moves. Once I was ready to fly the drone, it was effortless. Yes, it does take a couple of minutes for it to sync the GPS, but it's trying to make sure it has good signal. I flew the drone right away and didn't have any issues. I like the capability to adjust the speed and altitude. For beginner like myself it gives me the extra confident to fly the drone. I have been flying it for about 2 weeks several times a week trying different settings. I used my Gopro3+ and that is the only thing that I wish it worked better. When you add the camera, you have to start the recording manually. Again not a big deal since I realize this was listed in their description. I basically begin the recording right when it gets the GPS and gives you to ok to start flying. The home button is great if you think your not comfortable to fly it back. The drone flies right back where it started. The battery life is also correct based on what the web site indicated. I also think conditions will have a factor. I usually get a good 15~20 minutes of flying. Buy the backpack if you are serious about this drone. It fits everything perfectly and securely. Overall for the money you will not find anything close for the performance you get from this drone. I literally for $550 got the drone, ex propellers, two batteries, backpack and drone itself. The videos are awesome! Night time not so much, but it is because of my camera. I also tried several of the features, selfie, orbital, and follow me. It's just very cool. This drone does not have avoidance sensors, do be careful if you flying in the area where there are trees, obstacles, etc. Just fly it higher and you will be fine. Overall don't forget, this is a very sophisticated drone, and not a toy. Just practice and get to know the drone and it's features. Start with the baby steps, and in no time you will fly it like a Boss! I can't speak on its longevity, comparison with other drones, but for now I have been more than pleased!

I have flown a few of these and this one is probably the best I have flown. Would recommend it to anyone looking to take up flying.

Bought this for my 12 year old son; he was able to fly it right out of the box. Amazing how well this flies! We added the gimbal and are now streaming live video from our GoPro Hero 3+ Black.
