There is little paper showing how to set up properly the Drone. It took me a while to figured out how to connect the phone with the drone. BE CAREFUL, watch youtube video on drone crashes and be prepare. The drone is very hard to control on wind and tall object that surrounding it, such as buildings. After all, I think it is myself who didn't have a great time with drone. For those who like technology and adventure, try the drone because you might like it more than I do.

The Solo was my second quadcopter/drone. I grabbed the Solo because my first quad didn't have any kind of live video feed and required extra parts and money in order to add, so I just went with a new quad. So far I love it.. however, it is a bit frustrating waiting for the gimbals to be released. Rumor is they are now shipping.. just waiting for Best Buy to get them in stock so I can grab mine to add to my Solo.

I bought a 3DR Solo and a DJI Phantom 3 standard. They both were priced very close to each other. The Solo is 10X better hands down. It handles in the air so much better then the DJI. I like the Solo so much I'm returning the DJI and buying a 2nd 3DR Solo. Don't hesitate to buy the 3DR because of what you read about them on the internet, 90% of it is not true!! I was a little concerned about 3DR not honoring the one-year warranty so I emailed them and they said, yes they will still honor the warranty for the over 100,000 drone out in the world now, they will still be supporting the drone software and firmware updates, there just no longer selling to the consumer, just selling to the corporate market. Again best dronefor the money without a doubt!!!!!

this is a great drone. first time drone user and I am very impressed. it's very easy to setup and it's very easy to fly. the battery drains quickly so i would get a few extra batteries. doesn't have obstacle avoidance but for the price you can't get a better deal. the company is moving out from consumers drones but will still honor the warranty. down side you need to buy a camera for this and it uses a go pro 3+ or 4 . the go pro 5 won't work

So you can pretty well tell how much I like them! They are my go to drones. I am pretty sure stock supplies of these are dwindling so if you are lucky enough to find one you won't be sorry! Bundles change so make sure to get the gimbal if you plan on having smooth video. This drone and gimbal are designed for the GoPro Hero4 black, or the Hero 3 silver or black. Other cameras my possibly be used but the functionality will be sacrificed! Some of the features include smart shots which are cable cam, orbit, follow me, sorry can't remember the other three. Initial setup requires updates before flight.

Simply stated, this is easy to fly and full of great features that can do more than most other drones in the price range.

Drones are tricky. I wanted a payload drone but the price and ease of go pro use made this drone a perfect surveillance drone. Love it

I am not to happy about this purchase yet. I was talked into it when i should have started with something a liittle less expensive and that maybe has a gimbal. That was the worst part me being new and the display having a simulator with the gimbal i ma very disappointed and will be till I get the gimbal until then.. We will see. Besides that solo has been easy to fly i am new to this whole drone photography

An excellent drone choice at a great price. Once you charge the batteries and update everything it is ready to fly even for a novice flyer like me with no experience. Fly and return home are great features and the talking part of the app on my note 4 is a great help. With a little practice you can shoot great videos. You would be amazed at how your world looks at 375 feet above. It is very well built and at Best Buy also at a great price point.

Love it! Lots of flights, no issues whatsoever. Feels very solid. Very high end machine for an unbeatable price! Buy one before they are gone!

Flew nicely. Easy to fly. Only once did I have it lose connection with the satellites but luckily I could see it and flew it back home. I wanted to use it with my Gopro 5 but its not compatible with it so sadly i returned the drone. I really liked it and it was fun to fly. Definitely recommend to any drone flyers or first timers. Wont regret it and best to use with a Gopro 3 or 4.

Was in the market for a drone for my trip to the Philippines. It so happened that Best Buy had an amazing deal. A 3dr Solo, gimble, extra battery, and a backpack for 399. It worked out well because i already had a gopro hero 4. This drone worked well in the philippines. Very easy to fly. Also the pre loaded cinematic shots are great. Only gripes i have is that 3dr no longer is making consumer products which is a shame. Also the battery life could be a little better. All in all cant beat the price and its a fun little drone to fly

This is my first drone, however it was very simple to learn to fly. The documentation online was very helpful. Biggest negative has been availability of gimbal and spare propellers.

Had a malfunction and runaway situation, but the company was quick to help me get them the data they needed to find out what happened. They are in the process of replacing the Solo, Gimble and GoPro as we speak.

i really enjoy this product, not big deal with the remote, almost everyone can use it easily ... you dont have to buy the camera to have fun with it, but if you do, it will be extra fun added to the packet.... the battery life is very short so i totally recommend you to get an extra battery... still great product, enjoy it cause I'm doing it.. :)

I purchased this Drone on New Year's Day when I saw it on sale for $299.00 which included the gimbal mount and an extra battery. I was not able to fly it until two weeks ago due to weather in our area. I have had experience with radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. Before flying it I had to download the SOLO app on my iPad mini and update the software to the Drone and controller. This update took some time but the process was flawless. Since the Drone is well over 0.55 pounds I also had to go through certification with the FAA and label my Drone with my certification number. I do find it interesting that one of the reviews I have read had concerns about not being able to fly the drone over 500 yards away. According to FAA regulations I believe you must keep the drone "within sight". I don't believe I would consider this drone safely within sight if it was 500 yards out! I have flown this Drone over a dozen times and have never had a problem with it. I have never flown a radio controlled aircraft that is as easy to fly as this one. I very much like using my existing GoPro cameras with this Drone and the addition of the gimbal mount makes the camera work unbelievably steady! For the price of this Drone I would highly recommend it (and have) to anyone interested trying their hand at flying Drones. You can fly it without a camera if you would choose to purchase the GoPro later on. I have used mine with the GoPro hero 3+ and hero 4 silver. I would highly recommend you down load the FAA B4UFly app and app's like UAV Forecast to be well aware of your legal fling locations and flight condition recommendations! If you are at all concerned about loosing connections with your Drone it is a must to be well aware what the Kp conditions are in your area at the time of your flight. If you choose to try this Drone I hope your experiences with it are as much fun as those I have had with it!

3DR Solo drone is very easy to control, video quality is excellent (after all, it's a GoPro that's attached), the included gimbal makes the video very smooth and fluid. The biggest con is that every crash results in broken blades - they are very brittle, and since the drone has been discontinued, replacement blades are becoming harder to find.
