Geek Squad fixed my laptop

My laptops camera was not lined up with the screen so I couldn’t do Skype or zoom meetings or doctors appointments online so I the Geek Squad. They made the process as easy as possible and put me updated to the progress of the repairs. They took the stress out of the whole process and made it as easy as possible and I was truly grateful. I have health issues so they even made sure to work with me and that whoever I had picking it up, they knew they had their information to make sure it was going to the right person. They just had to show ID it was a good experience. Now the camera lines up with the screen and I’m able to do zoom meetings. Doctors appointments online. Take pictures whatever I need to do.

Peace of Mind for My Kid’s School Laptop

I haven’t had to use the Geek Squad Protection Plan yet, but just knowing it’s there gives me real peace of mind. My kid takes his laptop to school every day, and accidents can happen—drops, spills, or just wear and tear. It’s comforting to know that if something goes wrong, we’re covered.
The plan was easy to set up, and the coverage seems thorough—from hardware issues to accidental damage. As a parent, it’s one less thing to worry about. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone with a student who relies on their device daily.

I've had this laptop for a little over 2 weeks now and it's a significant improvement from my old Windows 7 laptop. I got this for both college work and casual gaming and it works very well for both. So far, I only have Sims 4 and Stardew Valley on this laptop and I am able to use many mods and cc and still have it on the best graphic settings and it's able to handle both very well.
The only difficulty I've faced with this laptop was connecting a Nintendo Switch Controller to use on Steam, had to watch a couple YouTube tutorials to troubleshoot the problem but it's been working great since then!
It was definitely a good deal when I got in on sale, I would recommend it!

Im upset that I brought a laptop into Bestbuy to have a touch screen replaced under a 3 year purchased bestbuy warranty plan to Geek Squad. They informed me that laptop would have to go back to manufacturer for the repair and would take 2 weeks. Laptop was less then 2 years into the bestbuy warranty (purchased 12-19-2023) and after 3 weeks of waiting I didn't receive any confirmation from them of repair complete. I had to reach out to them to find out that laptop will have to be replaced but a refund of original purchase price will be given back minus the warranty purchase cost. Secondly, my original laptop was now gone and i'm unable to move data to new laptop. *(where did it go and why??? It still worked and only the touch screen was cracked but still was responsive to touch) Third, my model is no longer available and I have to upgrade to the new model that is $350 dollars more plus a new warranty that is $300 dollars. I didn't purchase a warranty to come back to a location to purchase a new laptop and also a warranty because the manufacturer couldn't replace a screen that was still working. Im confused and feel swindled. Where is my old laptop? Where is my replacement.....not , here is your refund for original purchase, minus warranty and you will now need to fork over almost 700 to get the updated model and warranty through us.

Great laptop so far, expanded to max memory and added 2nd Nvme. Did had some issues where it would freeze if left along for long period of time, had to change settings, including going into the ASUS app to change settings it thinks are best (ASUS Bloatware may be the cause of the random freezing). After making the adjustments, laptop has been running smooth. btw I purchased Open-Box
In regards to the purchase experience, I'm sorry to disappoint but staff wasn't the best out there, except for the guy at the register. I first had asked if they had in stock (Open-Box) and they were able to find it, they brought it and they immediately were wanting to close the deal, I asked if I could take a look at the laptop to see the condition (after all, it was Open-Box), they said because its open box, they can't open it. (This is odd to me since it's Open-Box not New)..... I was debating and not feeling it. I inform that I was going to look around and if they could hold it. The person gave a look of unhappy because I delay the purchase.
After, went up to the register and asked the cashier (different person) I had the laptop, he brought it over, I asked him if I could see the condition, he said sure, it's an open-box so no problem. I took a look at the laptop, turned it on to ensure everything worked and asked about return, etc.... all good.
Then the manager on site, heard when I declined the Geek Square Protection and was insisting, stating things like if I were you I would get it. I simply said I work in IT (having a background of dealing with laptops to repairs, etc...). He then made the smirk of "Oh, I didn't know IT could get parts".
Very poor job at sales, except for the cashier which was friendly.

I dropped my laptop carrying it from the kitchen table to my chair in the living room. Of course I had it opened in landed on the top left corner and cracked the screen. The protection plan covered it. Well worth the money
I highly recommend getting the plan.

This was a lifesaver! My kids computer turned itself off, wouldn't turn on, and smelled like burning when we tried to charge it. We took it to them, they replaced the motherboard, we brought it home, before we even got it set back up, the whole thing happened again. We took it back. They sent it out again. It came back. It was apparently still broken. They traded it out for a not broken or preused computer. We are super happy! Plus the people there were just awesome! I am immunocompromised, as soon as they found out, they started using hand sanitizer, masks were pulled out, the works. I absolutely the adored how well taken care of we were!

I purchased Best Buy's Geek Squad Protection Plan for my Acer Predator Helios 18 Gaming Laptop (w/RTX 4090). I have purchased numerous products from Best Buy with the GSP, especially those that I would consider high ticket items. Their GSP is great and I would highly recommend it!

Geek Squad Saved My Tech Life!

I can’t say enough good things about the Geek Squad team! I brought in my laptop after it completely crashed during an important project. Not only were they super friendly and professional, but they diagnosed the issue in minutes and explained everything clearly without the confusing tech jargon.
They repaired my system, recovered my files, and even gave me tips to prevent it from happening again. Turnaround time was fast, communication was solid, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole way.
This wasn’t just a repair — it was a rescue. If you’re on the fence about Geek Squad, trust me, they’re worth every cent.

My laptop just stopped working one day. Went black. I took it to Geek Squad and they ended up having to replace a chip and the motherboard. With my 2 year protection planned it covered everything. I didn’t have to pay a cent. And they returned it before the 30 day deadline.

Should these plans be extended plans instead?

This type of plan would be so much better as an option that you pay for when purchasing your devices and that it kicks in upon your initial warranty expiration date. A Lenovo laptop that had a hinge failure occur just passed the plan coverage period would have been covered in that case, had the plan kicked one year from the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty. Now, I am working with my credit card company to see if their extended warranty can cover me in this case. Unlike many other people who had the same issue with these 2-in-1 Lenovo Yoga laptops, I gave my device occasional use since it was a secondary computer, treated it with lots of care, using a neoprene sleeve at home for storage or sturdier case when taking it outside the house, which is why it lasted me JUST PASSED all the protection time that I paid for up front.

Computer water damage

Spilt water my laptop and Geek Squad promtly sent it off to repair. Unfortunately it took over a week for them to determine it couldn't be repaired.
Good: I got store credit in full
Needs improvement: 1. I had to continually track, never got notofications of status changes, 2. I could only go back to the BB Geek Squad location it was dropped off at to finish the process. Which is a huge pain when traveling for work and had no time for the 24-48 process of getting an "exception" from BB. Even more disapointing is the squad members needed prompting even when i scheduled an appointment to close the case.

This laptop (with this configuration) cost $1499 on sale. At that price you're getting a 1k 165hz display, 16:10 aspect ratio, good I/O ports, and an overall pleasant gaming and viewing experience. The few quirks it does have are the motherboard being inverted, so if you ever wish to use the extra M.2 slot and/or upgrade ram you will have to get your hands dirty and most likely void warranty. There are workarounds on this of course, such as using an external SSD connector, if the previous method isn't for you.
Just arrived today, will edit review the more I use it but so far it has been a pleasure to use with the 8-core i7 and 3060.

I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for one thing. The limitations coming from the factory that prevent the hardware from working at 100% of its capacity. The screen does not shine at 500 units to protect the oleds, and the processor, which although it can reach 4.7Ghz, does not exceed 3.5Ghz so as not to overheat. in this image you can see the laptop working at its maximum rendering a 3D animation. See how the graphics.

I had left a small usb on top of the keyboard and didn’t notice I left it and shut the screen. This of course led to a a small crack on the corner which led to half the screen not working. I contacted Best Buy and geek squad and got it resolved right away. They took it in and replaced the screen in a couple days at no charge and got it right back, good as new.

I bought the 2-Year Accidental Geek Squad Protection on my Surface Laptop Studio 2 after Microsoft failed to repair a faulty IR camera—three repair attempts, zero fix, and no transparency on what they even tested. Thanks to Best Buy’s protection plan, I filed a claim and got a full refund without ever having to accept another broken replacement. Geek Squad made good on their promise when Microsoft wouldn’t. Highly recommend this plan if you’re buying high-end gear—you never know when you’ll need a real backup.

The accidental protection is one the best things offered through best buy. And the best thing is I don't have to deal with a third party I just go to my local store and they always have fixed or replaced the electronics that I have purchased with the this plan. It is well worth the price as it covers everything. I was sold on it years ago and have continued to purchase it ever time I buy new electronics.

This is a high quality laptop, decent battery life, beautiful screen and exudes high status. The sound is clear, the ports are sufficient. WIFI and bluetooth don't drop or provide issues. Ideally , more customization should be offered with "My ASUS" center, but they do a decent job.
Asus makes quality products, but you really want to purchase a warranty with Best buy. Gamer's Nexus has performed the video's and Best Buy's warranty is something I've had to use in the past and have full confidence in. Between BB and Dell, they both have great warranties, you pay for them, but they're reliable. However, Dell's offerings in terms of laptops are limited bios that limit users so you never really feel like you own the product. I've used enough of their products to know, but overall Asus is nice, but do not trust them. Thus 4/5 despite being a 5/5 product. Time will tell, but if something goes wrong I know I can trust best buy.
